Decided to go for the mixed vegetable rice for lunch. After looking at the available dishes, the following is being chosen which includes ikan bills, bitter groud and the hong shao chicken (red cooked chicken). The ikan bills taste cold and soft, not crispy at all and only have a slight salty taste. As for the bitter groud, it is sliced equally, sufficiently cooked, soft texture and not much seasoning. Lastly, the hong shao chicken has a nice light red colouring, slight crispy texture, mild hong shao taste. Overall, only a normal mixed vegetable rice stall. continue reading

This fried bihun is not bad,not too oily too.And it is not over cooked. And the dryness and the softness is just right. The amount of the bihun and the vege is nice too.I like the bean sprout too,it is cooked well and nice to eat.I like the pumpkin very much.It is soft and sweet. But i more prefer that they add some "small pawn" to increase the fragrance.I order with extra 2 vege and it only cost $2.3.It is really cheap. continue reading

This was an expensive plate of mixed vegetable rice. I paid $4.50 for sweet and sour fried dory fillet, fried egg and fried prawn paste chicken. I could not quite justify the price for the 2 pieces of dory fillet. I would not mind paying the price if it is a more expensive fish used for the dish. The taste of all these dishes was just average though the fried prawn paste chicken fared a little better than the others 2. continue reading

Value for money. For a meal for two, you’d just have to pay $6.00, what you can have would be 4 dishes and 2 bowls of plain porridge or 2 plates of white rice. The food offered here are purely home-cooked styles Chinese cooking. Many housewives said that the food here are even better than their home cooked dishes. The fried bean curd with french beans, chicken curry, sweet and sour pork, steam eggs, fried kangkong, lemon chicken, etc are some of the must try dishes here. The price range from 50 cents to $2.00 per dish. You can also choose 3 dishes and white rice in a plate for $2.50 to $3.00. No additional charge for takeaway. It is definitely value for money. A must try. continue reading
