Sometimes my sister and I go on a foodie trip around Takashimaya Food Hall and one day we decide to head to Ambush's for a quick lunch to fill our belly before we start with the other food stalls. We ordered the Salmon and Mushroom Paella (~$10+) and although you cannot really compare with the authentic paella from Spain (they are not a Spanish restaurant), it still taste pretty decent, considering the texture and consistency of the rice.I like the salmon too as its well-cooked and blends in well with the rice. If eaten alone, the rice might be too plain for my liking.I went around mid-afternoon and so it wasn't too crowded, but if you are coming during the peak period like lunch or dinner, you may have difficulty finding seats because this place is quite like a self-service restaurant in the sense that you find your own seats and order at the counter. There is a high probability i would come back to try the other items on the menu or head straight for the paella!

Yesterday, i had my late lunch at taka basement Ambush with my friends. Since it was around 3-4 plus, there were only a few customers. Ordered a grilled salmon fusilli with thai basil sauce, priced at $11.80. The pasta was really nice, al dente. The salmon was succulent and cooked to perfection. Meat was really tender and soft For the sauce, it was something special. It was tomato sauce with basil and a hint of tomyum taste which was really unique. I have to admit it was really nice! A great experience at Ambush. Really recommended and is a good place if you have cravings for pasta!

Tried their crispy chicken aglio olio and the aglio olio was normal. It was moderately spicy. The chicken was crispy but there was a weird taste which I could not put a word to. The portion was quite a filling one and it costed $10.50 which was pretty reasonable for restaurant price. The service was fast and efficient and my order came within 10 minutes even though it was lunchtime

I only tried two dishes here and it was the crayfish pasta and the sausage and rosti dish. Both were done perfectly. The crayfish pasta was in a tomato based sauce that had just the right amount of sweetness and tartness to it. The crayfish was nicely done with the meat being tender with just the right amount of bite. The rosti crispy and a golden brown was a nice base for the juicy garlic sausage. This place must definitely be revisited.

This Ambush outlet is located in the basement of Takashimaya.Ordered the rosti with chicken sausage. As can be seen from the photo, a generous portion of sausages was served. In comparison, the rosti was insufficient. You basically finish the rosti and there would still be sausages left. The sausages oozed with cheese when cut and goes well with the sausage.
