Went there with my girlfriends. We love the settings, once you stepped in it is like going back to old china, everything there are almost antiques! The food was really creative and mouth watering! Must try their crispy lamb ribs if you are a lamp lover and their peking duck! The crab roe fried rice is really good too! It is actually not as expensive as everybody says it is....depends what you order i guess? continue reading

I was there with my wife The first course was a trio of asparagus dipped in sesame seeds, scallop with pomelo and yuzu sauce, and a vegetable roll with beancurd skin. I found everything a little tasteless, and the scallops tasted slightly fishy tooNext up was the chilli and fennel prawns, and the fried fish fillet with salted egg yolk. I like anything that’s prepared with salted egg yolk so the fish was right up my alley. The prawn wasn’t too bad but general consensus was that it was pretty spicyBeing a Shanghainese restaurant, I had high hopes for both their xiao long baos and their home-made noodles. Both were unfortunately a let-down. The skin for the xiao long bao was really thick, and there wasn’t enough soup in each of them. The meat inside was well seasoned, though. As for the noodles, maybe we were just too full by then, but I found them way too thick and starchy continue reading

A fren suddenly feel like treating all of us to a very good dinner~ So here we landed in One on the bund that I never thought I would enter if not because of this very generous fren! Once I walk in I feel like I've entered a China crossover Modernism museum with Qing Dynasty's stone soldiers, sth like Opium bed, & a special room for double-boiled soup that looks like a bar. Everything looks expensive on the menu so we left the ordering job to the one paying the bill.I can't comment on the wine as I am not an alcohol-person, the handmade noodle was nice (but really ex for a bowl of plain noodle), the hand-tear-chicken was abit too dry, but the best thing is I finally can eat juicy Peking Duck (which is timely grilled so we waited very long) again! Had been craving for very long~ Initially the music was very un-match with the environment, it was... close to techno. We asked the waiter abt it & he says the boss like this kind of music. But after sometime when the boss arrived, the waiter seemed to have talked to the boss & they changed it to more soothing music. It's nice that they accept customers' feedback! ;) (I dun care if they change back to techno aft we left but at least they care abt our feelings when we were there)It a fun place to dine at with a group of fun frens~ continue reading
