This simple bowl of Ba Chor Mee at $3 is heartwarmingly simple, but chock full of ingredients. It has minced meat, sliced pork, fishballs, liver and mushrooms, tossed in a generous heap of noodles. While I would have liked stronger, sharper flavours in the sauce (it seemed a bit more mild), it wasn't overly salty. What perhaps was lacking was vinegar? We would also have preferred springier noodles! The meat was really fresh and the slices of liver are really huge (if you are a kua fan you will LOVE THIS!!). The ingredient to noodle ratio is also excellent -this makes for an extremely satisfying lunch! The fishballs were mediocre at best though, but I guess fishballs aren't exactly the highlight of the ba chor mee. continue reading

Had the Dry Minced Meat Noodles (Kway Teow Mee) for lunch today. Felt that the serving was rather little. As per any typical minced meat noodles, there were mushrooms, lettuce, sliced and minced pork (of course! ), liver and meatball in it. Pretty decent for its price ($2-$3) since it comes with all the standard items. The fried shallots and "chong" are placed separately on your spoon. Perfect for those who dislike veggies and have a hard time picking out the tiny green specks! Taste-wise, it was ordinary, and this applies to the soup which accompanies it. Nonetheless, worth eating if you need a minced meat noodle fix! continue reading

Hungry after work and decided to drive all the way to this pork minced noodle which i often will be cravying for their meat ball. I will always order for the dry one as tdry noodle with chilli is my favourite. Tried before the soup noodle which tasted not too delicious to me as well. The taste of the soup was nice with added some pig intestines and meatballs. Guess they got their own recipe for the soup with tasted no MSG added on . The meatballs are made by the stall owner which meat ball are tendered and very fresh. Definetly the meat ball tasted differently if you compare with the machine made ones.I ever heard before that the owner told the customer in front of me that " there are no meatballs on sale as the meat does not look fresh to me". So which means that the stall owner was particular about his quality of food sold to his customers. continue reading
