Finally get to taste the fried carrot cake from this stall by CHANCE. Yes, it's by chance. Why? Well, becoz this stall always has long Q and even if I can afford the time to Q, by my lunch time, the owners are in the midst of calling it a day as they finished whatever they sells for the day.I'm so so lucky that my colleague help me ta bao lunch bought from the "wrong" stall. I didn't realize until i open the packing.Trademark of carrot cake from this stall are delicious big chunks of carrot cake and generous servings of eggs. Yummy...no wonder it's delicious. Most importantly, the moist fluffy kueh are nicely pan fried till golden brown on the outside. continue reading

This seemed to be another popular stall in this food centre. The minimum order for the fried carrot cake is $3. I ordered a packet of black fried carrot cake to be taken away. I requested for extra chilli and extra chai po to be added. The texture of the carrot cake was soft and it fried simply with the dark sweet sauce together with a generous amount of egg then added in the chilli and chai po. I tried it for the first time and i liked it. continue reading

This seemed to be another popular stall in this food centre. A few people were gathered right at this stall waiting for their orders. I ordered the smallest portion for black fried carrot cake at $3.00. There are the $4.00 and $5.00 portions available too. I requested for extra chilli to be added.I waited for about 10 minutes for my carrot cake to be ready. While waiting, i overheard a conversation between a customer and the lady boss. He said he didn't know they do the black version for the fried carrot cake too. The lady boss was telling him, the black carrot cake is only available on the weekdays. I suppose their business must be really good during the weekends. The portion for $3.00 is quite substantial. A good enough serving of soft carrot cake nicely fried with a generous bit of egg and sweet dark sauce together with a handful of preserved radish. It was one of the better ones that i ever eaten and i am happy to come back for more if i happen to be in the vicinity. continue reading
