I bought two thick toast in total, one otah and one pork floss, take away. I was informed that the wait will be around 8 minutes. These cost me a total of $3.60.The toasts are done in around 5-6 minutes ;DThe pork floss thick toast is fully covered with the floss and it tastes similar to their pork floss bun, where they have a layer of buttery sauce on top of the toast before the pork floss are added. The thick toast is cut into 9 small pieces and the corners are crispy and nice. The floss is not the crispy type and it may drop all over the place when eating. The otah thick toast is also cut into 9 small pieces and the sides of the toast are removed for the otah toast. The otah toast is slightly softer and the otah paste spread over is quite thick. It is quite spicy and a little sour. Overall both toasts taste quite nice. Would recommend the otah thick toast more, as the pork floss one would taste better as a pork floss bun. continue reading

The FoodInstead of the usual toast bread or coffee and tea, I had this traditional cake for tea this afternoon. I like it as it reminds me of the past and it is not easy to find such traditional cake elsewhere nowadays already. However, I am not very happy with the serving of each slice of traditional cake. It was way too small for the price I paid for. I hope toast box can work on this.. continue reading

Toast Box has been a regular hangout for a good cup of coffee lately. The pricing is definitely much cheaper as compared to those expensive coffee outlets. I ordered a Kopi O to chill. I could smell the aromatic coffee smell even before tasting it. It has got a minimum level of sweetness to bring out the coffee taste even well. This cup of black coffee goes best with their kaya toasts. continue reading

I go to toast box every time my mum wants to have a cup of coffee. I would usually sit there and wait for her to finish. This time, I asked my dad to get me a cup of milo dinosaur. Milo dinosaur is one of my favourite drink, but I don't get to drink it often. The milo powder on top melts in my mouth and the taste is sensational. The milo is well made and the powder makes the drink up to my liking. I wouldn't cease to get more cups, by I must be sure not to overdo it. The milo dinosaur at Toast Box is nice and should be tried. (: continue reading

Having been patronizing to their chain stores for coffee and toast often, this time I tried their nasi lemak with homemade barley. It is a value meal to me as their seating is comfortable with consideration of the price for a set of meal is only $5.8.First glance of the meal served, it was so so. First try the rice, fragrance with a tad of coconut milk, not too strong or mild, rice was cooked to the right consistency. Chicken wing was warm and crispy outside, marinated with right taste. Fried egg was too dry. Peanuts and ikan bilis was fine. Chilli should be the main sauce to note, a bit sweet and spicy with fragrance of dried prawn, not bad though. Overall taste was just fine. Yet there is room to improve for overall taste. I would say famous nasi lemak selling at hawker stalls win over this one. For a causal meal, this is a good choice. continue reading
