It was a little disappointment. There wasn't crowd during dinner hours surprisingly on a weekend even after featuring on Sizzling Woks 3.Looking through the menu, we ordered some of the recommended dishes shown on TV.Cod Fish ClaypotI did imagine the taste to be close to the deep fried fish soup but it taste more like Bak Kut Teh with too much pepper added in the soup. If that was the case, I rather had the original Bak Kut Teh soup! Can't remember what this dish is called. The fried vegetable on top of the dish taste like seaweed which I am in flavour of! But the taste of chicken gave discount to the overall taste... the chicken taste all right from the first bite but the inner layer without the sauce taste yucky somehow. I suppose it wasn't marinated well. The outside taste like satay sauce which was quite a turn on but overall...Chili Crab $28As usual, the taste of the sauce is alright but the crab meat itself I don't know - judge it yourself if you are there!Kang KongThe Kang Kong taste a bit raw still, sauce was alright.Fried Big IntestineThis is my first time having intestine while having Zhi Char which usually I have it when I have Kway Chap and it is the fried version. This dish is the beyond Okay dish that is safe to order! Now I know intestine can be fried too and it taste better.Overall, this is a place for quick fix - close to $80 for 4 of us. continue reading

Codfish is my favourite fish, it has never failed me. I especially like the texture, it can stand for long cooking, it won’t be tough or disappear. This stall was featured at TV programme, I would think it could be good for some standard. We reached there 5+pm as we worried there was crowded. It was quite quiet though. We have ordered their recommended dishes of sweet and sour chicken and codfish claypot. They used the first joint of chicken wing, and prepared it in an easy way to eat as you can see from my photo. The dark green fried leaf was a type of vegetable, if it was seaweed, it would enhance the overall flavour. The sweet and sour taste wasn’t outstanding though. We have so much expectation on the codfish claypot, the soup was rich, it was milky colour and I didn’t think it was from milk, it should be after a long boil of fish/chicken/pork bones, I suppose. There were so much ingredients in it but hardly could find CODFISH! Just not so many bits, they were deep fried before putting into the soup, it has codfish bones as well. I couldn’t even say they were in pieces. Instead there were plentiful of deep fried yam, if someone like yam very much, it could be their dish. For $28 at a kapitam, the size of the claypot wasn’t big, it was overpriced. The sweet and sour chicken for 6 was $10, it was acceptable. continue reading
