We have heard of this kind of noodle for long but we are not spicy eaters, taking such a long time to try out this famous sour and spicy noodle. This kind of noodle is really popular in Sichuan as well as other provinces. We have seen people eating it at the streets of Shenzhen. We have ordered a bowl of simple sour and spicy noodle, it contained crispy peanuts and some shredded preserved veggie, noodle was made of potato, texture wise, it was springy. Red colour soup put us off at first sight, we tried a sip, it was spicy after taste. It wasn’t too sour though. Overall taste was fine, yet it was too spicy for us.We have ordered another bowl of noodle with the same type of soup base, with more ingredients, ie bean sprouts, soya bean skin and fatty pork slices. According to them, soup base is the same as the original sour and spicy noodle, but we could see the colour was a bit different, taste wise, it was the same spicy and sour and hot after taste. We chose another type of noodle, texture liked thick vermicelli. Though we liked both noodles but they were too spicy to our taste. We kept whipping our nose while eating them. If you are a spicy person, this is a good choice. continue reading
