Kim's hokkien mee at Food Junction is one of the many outlets made famous by its owner who used to fried hokkien mee wearing long sleeve shirt and Rolex. He, of cause is not the chef here...this stall is manned by a group of 3 foreign talents from China. I ordered a medium packet of hokkien mee $6.80 for sharing with hubby. The dish is moist but not too watery, has fresh pieces of whole prawns and slices of sotong. The chili is good...overall an alright dish. continue reading

There is always a crowd at Kim's Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee stall during lunch and dinner time, every day.The Hokkien Prawn Mee is slightly different with other stalls because they offer seafood as well.I ordered a large plate of seafood prawn hokkien mee for $9 the other day. The whole dish was very fragrant! The gravy was mixed with chilly (since I wanted it to be spicy)The seafood were very fresh, perfect combination with the starchy yet watery gravy. The noodles were served with plenty of eggs! Thus the whole dish was extremely delicious!! continue reading

This is one of the few outlets of Kim's Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee. There was a queue of few people when i was there. I ordered a basic plate of fried hokkien mee that came with a few prawns and sotong. The texture was moist and not overly wet. The ingredients tasted noticeably fresh. It served with a generous amount of nicely fried pork lards and the purpose of these sinful fried pork lards is none other than to enhance the taste. It is best eaten with their special chilli. continue reading

Was there last week with my friend for dinner Tried their hokkien mee,it tasted just ok,The portion was quite huge, enough for 2 personIt was quite soggy which i like,as i don't really like it to be too dry The lean meat was very tender ,& the boss was quite generous with the prawns, gave us 3-4 prawnsWaiting time around 10-15mins during dinner time ,Price a bit expensive Overall i rate 6/10 continue reading

This stall is popular for its variety of cuisine - from Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee to Sambal Fried Rice. We tried the Fried Kway Teow - minus pork and cockles. The dish was okay - the Fried Kway Teow was piping hot and with just the right amount of sweet soya sauce. The chilli was also just right, but the dish was a little too oily. The service was fast, but you have to be sure the order taker is clear about what you want or don't want. We had specifically mentioned TWO plates - without char siew and cockles, but only ONE plate was correct. This stall is in The Food Junction at Nex.Overall, the Food Court is an average place to have dinner - one corner of this food court has leaking air con pipes that have yet to be repaired ( for more than three months). The environment is clean, but not spotless. It could be better.Next time, I will try the other dishes. continue reading
