The restaurant was located within walking distance from the Buona Vista MRT station, by cutting through The Metropolis. The restaurant had both indoor and outdoor dining area. The event which I was attending took up half of the indoor dining in area. Please take note the toilet was quite a distance, especially at night when the place was quite dark.We started the meal with broccoli soup which was served in cup. It was difficult to drink with the spoon. It tasted quite rich and creamy. For the main course, we got to choose between Teriyaki Chicken and Butter Seared Pacific Dory with Parsley Rub, which I selected Butter Seared Pacific Dory with Parsley Rub. It was served with Olive Rice, Side Salad and Wafu dressing. Although the Olive Rice was flavourful, I felt that it was too salty on its own. The fish on the other hand was quite bland.Lastly for dessert, we were served swiss roll and chocolate eclair. Not sure if the staffs were rushing to knocking off, as the food was served in paper plates. We did take note that it was past the usual operating hours. By this time, there was barely any air-condition in the room. The swiss roll was quite dry.Overall the food was not to my taste. Service was barely there. I had to help myself to the iced water. continue reading

The Lawn @ Biopolis is situated at serene surrounding whereby you can have your lunch/dinner peacefully away from the crowd in town area. They're probably the only Specialty Grill & Salad Cafe in Singapore where you get to fully customize your own Salad; pairing your favourite perky greens to your favourite premium grills, topped with the wide variety flavours of their unique dressings at an affordable price! You can satisfy your cravings with 12 tantalising grills and this made the salad even more delicious. I must say The Lawn is really good in food marination. Most of the grills tasted great! Yummy Yummy!!!For full reviews and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2014/06/lunch-at-lawn-cafe-31-biopolis-way-01.html continue reading

As we just recently moved into our new office in The Metropolis, a colleague bought me to try a new healthy lunch at the Lawn which is a few minutes walk from our office. When we reached The Lawn, there was already a queue at the cashier. However, I was impressed with how efficient the food preparer and cashier and it appeared quite a seamless effort for me to get our food and found an empty table and I didn't have to wait too long even though it was lunch break.I ordered the olive rice with chicken breast with fresh herbs. To complete my meal, I added the Soup Shot at SGD2.  I really like the flavour to the chicken meat (tender and just now). The salad and vegetables are pleasantly light and fresh! For the dressing, I selected "Me So Spicy" which is a bit too hot for me. Finally, I really like the presentation of the food!I thanked my colleague for bring me to this new place and I will be coming back again for future lunch.  continue reading

For more details, please visit http://foodesteem.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-lawn.htmlSalad can also be delicious too with the correct mixture of your favorite fruits and vegetables, and most importantly the sauce too! Here are what we had for salad. In our bowls are only the base and toppings, as our grills and dressings are served seperately, by recommended by the outlet manager We all had the salad bowl ($7.90), which includes mesclun salad with 5 toppings and a dressing for finish! Grills are optional and chargeable. They have 12 dressings in total. Wasahoney, Me so Spicy which taste and smell like our belachan, Red Island, Apple Cider Vinaigrette, Perky Sesame Ginger, Citrus, Honeyball, Manly Mango, Beachy Peachy, Wafu, Maple Peanut, and lastly, Balsamico with Olive Oil.Char-grilled Prawns with Garlic ($3.00) and Butter-seared Pacific Dory with Parsley Rub ($3.00). Prawns are definitely fresh and crunchy, while dory fish is smooth and soft!Chicken feast!!! Hahaha. Chicken Breast with Maple Infusion ($2.00), Chicken Breast with Fresh Herbs ($2.00), Char-grilled Cajun Chicken (2.00), and Grilled Teriyaki Chicken ($2.00).We also had Aceto Balsamico Beef Cuts ($4.00), Ben's Beef Rub ($4.00).If you are sick of eating salads and want some real carbos, they have the Olive Rice ($7.90) which comes with additional side salad and a dressing. Although the olive rice was cold when served, but the taste of it in your mouth is pretty defining!Their salad are definitely of standard. Extensive menu and sauces to select from, does make one fill with anxiety to finish up the ordering, but also with a wider variety, one can also repeatedly visit them again and again to try out different mixings and sauces For more details, please visit http://foodesteem.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-lawn.html continue reading

Full The Lawn Cafe review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2014/03/the-lawn-cafe-tasting-session.htmlThe Lawn Cafe is 2 plus years old hidden gem of a cafe is unlike any other. Casual, comfortable ambience? Check. Great tasting yet balanced food? Check. Premium ingredients? Check. Affordable price? Check. Flavours of both East and West? Check. Add in a brand new delivery service and The Lawn Cafe has a lot going for it!I loved the ambience at The Lawn Cafe. The faux grass acts like a comfy carpet under your feet, and the furniture is casual and functional. Choose from either indoor seating or outdoor seating at The Lawn Cafe Biopolis. Personally, I prefer outdoor, as the Nanos building here is specifically designed to act like a wind tunnel, channelling cooling breeze along the exterior of the The Lawn Cafe. The open kitchen and prep area provide interesting distractions while waiting to order, and I like the olden looking gas lamps hanging in a bunch. There was a blackboard near the cashier counter, and I noticed several diners accidentally knocking into it while ordering / making payment. Might be better if they moved it elsewhere. The Lawn Cafe is largely self-service. Indicate your order on an order chit, then queue and make payment at the counter. Collect a buzzer, which will signal you to collect your order when ready. But the real question is, what should you order at The Lawn Cafe? The base is either a Salad or Olive Rice, but there is a near endless combination of items to add on, including 13 grilled meats / seafood, 30 different salad toppings, and 12 types of salad dressing / sauces. This mind boggling variety means you could eat everyday at The Lawn Cafe and not get bored! The basic Salad Bowl (SGD $7.90) comes with a base of fresh, crunchy lettuce, plus a choice of 5 different salad toppings, and 1 type of salad dressing sauce. The 30 salad toppings include a variety of vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains, and others such as egg or tofu. You may then choose to add on 1 or 2 types of grilled meats or seafood.Alternatively, choose the Olive Rice & Side Salad (SGD $7.90). Unlike the Thai or Greek Olive Rice, the version of Olive Rice at The Lawn Cafe is a Teochew recipe from the founder's grandmother. Each mouthful is a distinctly Asian flavour of spices. Lovely.Sampled 10 of the 12 different salad dressing / sauces available at The Lawn Cafe. My personal favourites include Me So Spicy, a potent kick of fresh chili, sambal belachan and fresh mint; the Wasahoney, a sharp yet sweet combination of wasabi, honey and mayonnaise; and the Perky Sesame Ginger, a combination of sesame seed, coriander root and grated ginger that tastes like Chicken Rice. The Chicken Breast With Maple Infusion is the 1st most popular grill addition at The Lawn Cafe. The moist and tender premium quality chicken breast is infused with sweet maple syrup, making it both savoury and sweet at once. continue reading
