Brought a plate of the black soy sauce hokkien noodle with chicken wing and sliced cabbage for lunch at chong pang food centre. The black soy sauce hokkien noodle is well cooked, not too much of the sauce is added and sufficient seasoning is added. As for the chicken wing, it has a slight crispy skin, well seasoned, not too salty and the chicken has a soft and tender texture. As for the sliced cabbage, it is cooked with carrot slices, taste wise is a bit bland and is a little oily as well. Overall, quite a normal hokkien noodle with chicken wing and sliced cabbage. continue reading

This stall seemed to be the branch of another famous Nasi Lemak at Albert Street Food Centre. I ordered the chicken wing set for $2.20. It came with fried egg and ikan belis with peanut too. Their sambal chilli tasted quite spicy but it goes well with the coconut rice. The pandan taste was not noticeable. The chicken wing got a crispy texture and flavourful. The fried egg was a good choice too. continue reading

I came to this food centre for the first time for lunch. I ordered a Nasi Lemak set to share. The set consists of the usual fried chicken wing, fried egg and also ikan belis. The rice is green in color. It has got a strong taste of coconut with a grainy texture. The sambal chilli is the star of the Nasi Lemak. The spiciness level is quite intense. When mixed it with the rice, it tasted really good. The well fried chicken wing is another star. The Nasi Lemak here is one of the best i tried. continue reading

This seemed to be a famous Nasi Lemak stall in this food centre. The basic Nasi Lemak set came with a piece of chicken wing, a fried egg and peanuts with ikan belis. Their coconut infused rice has got a very slight pandan taste. The chicken wing was well marinated and fried to perfection to give it a nice crispiness. The egg yolk for the fried egg was a bit overcooked. The sambal chilli was pretty good, it tasted rather spicy and i liked it. The set is priced at $2.20. continue reading
