These few days the weather was warm and humid. Hence, when I passby this drink stall, I decided to order a dessert to cool down.I had ordered a bowl of cold Grass Jelly at $1.20. The Grass Jelly was shredded into pieces. It did not have any herbal taste or smell, instead there was a mild vanilla taste and smell. The sugar syrup tasted of brown sugar and was mild sweet. Overall, it was a nice and cheap cooling dessert to have during a hot day. continue reading

I had tried the soya bean and tao huay from this store today. I really like their handmade soyabean and tao huay. Both are great. The soft and silky tao huay had a light milky taste and a little sweet, maybe due to the syrup. It tasted very different from some very popular brands currently on going in Singapore. I think this is one of the choice you should go for. It is authentic Singapore Soyabean which is now replaced by those famous soya bean brand, with gelatin added to give the firm jelly-like structure. The soya bean is another 'must-try' too. there is a very thick and strong bean taste yet with very mild sweetness which i guessed many will like. But i think the auntie is a bit fierce. continue reading

Brought a bowl each of the grass jelly and the tao huay with the attap seed after lunch. It is quite different and suprise to see this stall offering a different style of the grass jelly and tao huay with the attap seed as not much stall offer this dessert. Both the grass jelly and the tao huay has the cooling taste, with the grass jelly in stripe texture and has a light herbal taste. As for the tao huay, it has a very soft and smooth texture and the amount of the syrup is sufficient added. As for the attap seed, it is given is a reasonable portion, large and has a soft texture and goes very well with the grass jelly and the tao huay. Lastly, I think it is a really good combination of the attap seed in this traditional dessert. continue reading

What could be better to have a nice cup of soya bean milk to go with my fried bee hoon. The soya bean drink from this very stall is a regular choice whenever i am having lunch in this food centre. The soya bean drink has gotten a thick and fragrant taste of soya bean at the level of sweetness. The alternative choice from this very stall has been grass jelly drink which is equally good if it is not better. I always have my choice in between the soya bean drink and the grass jelly drink very much depending on my mood at that very moment and the weather too. continue reading
