A great way to chase away sleepy mode, decent breakfast lead a fresh start of a day. Heading to Tian Fu Fried Bee Hoon stall, it was opened early in the morning. Queue was there upon I reached, business rather good. Appeared neat and well-maintained, their food was prepared in hygiene manner. I opted for Beehoon instead of Noodles, prefer it more. Picking my favourite curry gravy along veggies and fried tofu, the portion was filling. Beehoon was springy and not overcooked, tasted not bad with soy sauce fragrance and little peppery spiciness. Crispy tofu ever, the cabbages inside curry were soft and delicious too. Not very healthy but certainly satisfied, I like such simple breakfast. The price was $2.30, reasonable indeed. continue reading

Just got back from a 2-week holiday in Europe and had too much of continental breakfasts - toast, jam & butter, toast, jam & butter. The first thing when I got back to work on Monday was to make a quick trip to the Market Street Food Centre for my favourite 'economy bee-hoon'. The queue was quite long but not too bad. I had the standard set of fried bee-hoon, chicken wing, runny fried egg and a bit of vegetable - all for the usual $2.20..... And it tested really heavenly. The bee-hoon was tasty, the chicken wing was tender to the bite and the egg yolk oozed its golden goodness adding to the flavor of the bee-hoon. I love it that due to the high turnover, the food is constantly being cooked and everything is still at least warm.Hehehe.... I went back to the stall around 1pm and bought a takeaway packet for lunch again. This time, I picked my own food - bee-hoon mixed with noodles, the fish roll, otak and an egg. This time, I was charged $3.50. Still, I am overall pretty satisfied. continue reading

Delicious and value for money - this is how I would describle the food from this stall at Golden Shoe Market. In particular, I like the sunny side up in which the yolk is runny. As usual, the queue is long during lunch time. Gonna wait for about 20 hour to order.Something which I feel that needs improvement is the service attitude of the stall helpers. They seem very unpatient when taking orders (perhaps due to the fact that the queue is long). In fact, I witnessed one of the stall helpers scolding a customer who are queuing ahead of me as the customer changed her order. continue reading
