I ordered the mango roll to try. I tried the same thing in Hong Kong before. The mango filling got nice sweetness with cream wrapped together. It is a small piece for $2.50, a bit too expensive. I did not particularly like it and likely not to order again. It did not taste as nice as the one i had before. I will try the durian one next time. I will be keen to try their other desserts too. continue reading

First about the place, you find your own seats then proceed to place your order after filling up the order chit, small chairs and stools typical of a dessert stall, not meant for comfort, to encourage quick turn over. Costing $5.90, the peanut snow ice comes with peanut flavored ice shavings and also 3 rice dumpling. Peanut crumbs are then sprinkled over the mountain of ice. The tang yuan is without feeling type and taste sweet. The shaved ice is really fine but i did not find the peanut flavor strong enough for the snow ice. I think their Durian version is better with stronger taste both in the puree and the ice itself. Else just stick with the safe choice trinity mango which cost $5.40 continue reading

I tried their desserts when i was in Hong Kong and have been rather impressed with their different types of desserts. I was excited when gotten news of their opening in Singapore. I came with anticipation and expecting the standard to be better or as good. I tried the mango shaved ice served with grass jelly cubes, mango bits and sago pearls. The mango tasted a little sour to my liking but the grass jelly cubes were rather enjoyable. The taste of the mango shaved ice was just nice with the right level of sweetness though it would be nicer if it tasted a bit more milky. It was a pleasant experience though it did not meet my expectations. continue reading

Desserts' a must after a fulfilling dinner! However, Lucky Desserts disappointed us! Desserts are supposed to be sweet but they do not serve really sweet desserts. We ordered Sesame Paste with Beancurd and Purple Rice desserts. I did not finish mine as it wasn't sweet enough. Perhaps they can add 10% more sugar to their desserts. Service wise was promptand staff were friendly. continue reading

My first time at Vivocity in a couple of months and I walked by this new cafe called Lucky Dessert. There was nothing particularly eye-catching in terms of cafe layout/design, but what it lacked in visual appeal, it more than made up with the irresistible aroma of durians! There were other items on the menu, but I fixated on the variety of durian snacks ranging from wraps, glutinous rice rolls, sago, fried crisps etc. My order for the day was the durian glutinous rice rolls - 4 mini rolls with a chewy outer layer of glutinous rice rolled in grated coconut with a heavenly filling of durian. NICE! continue reading
