How many different style of chicken rice are there in Singapore? White chicken rice, roasted skin chicken rice, chicken cutlet rice and chicken rice ball. Today I am going to have a try at the chicken cutlet rice from this stall. The chicken cutlet is well deep fried as it has a very nice golden brown color, crispy skin and tender texture on the inside. As for the rice, it is not too fragrance but texture wise is soft, grainy and does not stick together. Overall, it’s just an average chicken cutlet rice. continue reading

Shredded Chicken Kway Teow has always been one of my favourite dishes. When I found out that the chicken rice stall at the food court served this dish, I had to try it!The kway teow seems to be thinner and smoother than other others I've tried elsewhere. It was also easy to mix with the gravy. The serving of the gravy was generous but the gravy was rather sweet. However, the chili can mask the sweetness and if you mix it in, the gravy would not be a problem. Not much to rave about the chicken although the highlight of the dish and also the stall is supposed to be the chicken. It was alright. Overall an okay dish, nothing much to rave about. continue reading

My mother took away the chicken rice from this stall. of all the chicken rice I have eaten, I found this one just okay. The rice was a little dry, but it did have the chicken rice fragrance. I think the roast chicken skin was a little oily so I barely touched the skin. the meat was not too bad, was quite smooth and tender. My mum added an egg for me, I think the egg need to be braised slightly longer. continue reading

I ordered the chicken rice from the food court at lot one’s food junction. I found it pretty pricey. I ordered their roasted chicken rice and when I told the guy I wanted to takeaway, he charged me an additional twenty cents. Then I decided to add an egg and it incurred me an additional sixty cents so in all, for this packet of chicken rice, I actually paid $4.80. I felt the pinch when I paid for it. The chicken rice was only so so, I still think it is not worth the money I paid. continue reading
