I came on a Sunday for lunch. I queued for quite long to order. When i ordered, i want to take the utensils then realised the saucer is no more. They do not have the cut chilli also. The soup base was diluted too. The portion is little. My ban mien came with vegetable, minced meat and ikan belis. I remember they used to be nicer but now, it tasted just normal. I may not come back again. continue reading

There are actually many outlets for this Qui Lian in Singapore but personally the one at Yishun has one of the nicer ban mien among the rest of the branchs. The ban mien are handmade by the staffs daily and is really thick, chewy and smooth. The ingredients in it are really generous and I really like the large minced pork meat in it which are juicy and tender. Lots of green vegetables are added in in as well which make this ban mien looks and taste healthier too. The soup base here is more towards the thicker version and with lots of sweetness in it. The portion is quite alot and will definitely fill up your stomach after a bowl of it. continue reading

I believe many of you will link Ban Mian to Qiu Lian Ban Mian whenever you hear the name of this handmade noodle. Today i tried it at northpoint, which made me understand why this Qiu Lian Ban Mian rose to fame and can set up many stores around Singapore. First of all is the soup , which is thick and tasty. Then the noodle, that is real Q and goes well with the ikan billi. The vegetables given is also very fresh with no sands inside. Since it located in the foodcourt of a shopping mall, i presume $3.50 is quite a reasonable price. continue reading

As it was a cold rainy day, i want to have something hot and soupy to eat. I was looking around the food court and decided to order from Qui Lian Ban Mee. As the ban mee is back in the plastic container, i had to pay extra for it. The soup of the ban mee is quite fragrant and the ban mee was well cooked and not too soft. The egg was also cooked just nice and was soft. continue reading
