To cure the starving point of my evening night after not snacking in between afternoon, the Waraku set meal including a bowl of gohan, katsu, miso and udon was the best choice. For $20+, you are entitled to get everything in a go!Rice and katsu was self explanatory and at least well-done in frying. Not too much grease and the crisp is just correct, breaded in bread crumbs. Rice was warm when served. Udon was also as of normal standard with clear broth soup and the white chewy noodles with your seaweed and those pink colored fish slices. Miso wasn't too salty. For this I'm going for the portion with the good price given but Waraku definitely knows well of course what they are cooking, and its what you expect.I had to forgive the service was slow becuase it was a full house, it was rather hard to call in a waiter, as they're hard to come by and I had to just went over to the pitcher and get the water myself. continue reading

Been to Waraku's group of restaurants including Mr Curry but first time to walk into Cafe de Waraku.Situated at the Center Stage of Marina Square,it is actually just next to Mr Curry and the menu is the same when i asked the manager,he says they are planning new menu as last menu were not so good!Had the seafood nabeyaki which comes with either a choice of rice or noddles at only $7.80.The nabeyaki soup base is tasty with rich stocks and consists of mushroom, bamboo vegetable, prawn, imitation crab meat and hotateThe rice is very tasty japanese style and they top it with black sesame before serving youOverall i had a great meal at less than $10 and was very full as i finished up the whole craypot of seafood nabeyaki and the bowl of tasty rice.If i'm not mistaken i think the lunch promtion at $7.80 is until 5pm as i was there at 3pm. continue reading
