Another "Must Try" when we stepped into Chinatown Complex Market and Food Centre. Known for its smooth and delicate skin, these Chee Cheong Fun had its history build over the years. We have ordered two of the mushroom fillings chee cheong fun as it was our favourite and skipping the common char siew fillings Chee Cheong Fun.Chee Cheong Fun came coated with the sweet and dark sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds. Suitable as a simple side dish for a breakfast meal.Cost: S$1.40 / each continue reading

For full post, visit: http://www.dairycream.blogspot.sg/2013/05/teo-chew-street-bak-chor-mee.htmlBesides having the teochew street bak chor mee, father went to order this chee cheong fun which was not authentic as it claimed to be. The factory-made skin turned out to be dry and the average homemade sauce did not help much. I would suggest you save your stomach for other food. continue reading

These rice rolls with sweet brown sauce is.definitely one of the best seller in this stall. Available during breakfast hours daily, i can ensure i be able to buy it whenever i visit them. The rice rolls are very smooth in texture and really easy to chew. The brown sweet sauce is not too sweet and is fragrant enough to enhance the taste of the rice rolls. The price is very reasonable too. continue reading

This hawker stall at Chinatown Complex serves well in stuffed chee cheong fun. They cook their own stuffing, which is then rolled into factory-made rice flour skin. Four different kinds of stuffing are available: turnip, mushroom & dried shrimp, chicken, and char siew.A few months back, we tried the chicken and char siew. The diced meats were dry and tough. This time, I thought the vegetable-based stuffing might fare better. The mushroom was passably tasty and juicy. It is worth going to try continue reading

The Chee Cheong Fun stall has been around for decades!still surviving and going strong. They features cheecheongfun with generous fillings!I love the char siew one especially.Every layer of the skin are consistently thin and it doesnt clumps together. Every bite of the chee cheong fun is really as enticing as the next! The sauce is then topped with sesame seed the enhance the fragrance, not too sweet not salty - just to the right degree. If you haven tried it, you haven't tried one of the best cheecheong fun before. continue reading
