Signature Dishes
Sometimes when I only want something light for my lunch, I will choose to have the waffles with ice cream and fruits from this cafe. The waffle is very generous in portion and the texture of it is very crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It is quite fragrant and taste good even on its own. The added sliced peaches and bananas have enhanced the taste of it and the vanilla ice cream also blend in well with the waffle too.

I have never eaten at Cafe Cartel before, nor step foot into one outlet. Not until this time, when my fren pulled me there; to queue for their cakes. We were at Bukit Panjang Plaza shopping and it was almost 9pm. My fren asked me to accompany her to Cafe Cartel as there were 50% off cakes after 9pm. Said that the cakes there were heavenly, to which i replied i nv dined there before. LOL. When we got to level 1, there was alrdy a short queue in front of us. The cakes were very expensive, and I'm talking about a slice, not a whole cake, which may be why people are rushing to buy when they are having an offer. We saw people buying up to abt 5-8slices each, so the cakes are practically flying off the shelves. Luckily we were among the 1st few, so we got a few variety to choose from.My fren bought 1 and gave it to me, saying it was a treat since i treated her last time. The cake was placed in a plastic packaging, whereas if one gets ard 6-8 cakes, a box will be provided. It was chocolate cake, my favourite. The taste of the cake was really nice, it's like those melt in your mouth kind, simply indescribable until you try it yourself. It was soft, and kind of creamy and spongy cake in between. It looks plain, but the taste is there. The chocolate shreds at the side of the cake helps to make the cake nicer too. Overall, best cake I've ever tasted. Waiting for the next time when I'll be dropping by a Cafe Cartel Outlet. P.S. Do queue up early so that you will be able to choose from more flavours. If too late, there wont be much choices to choose from.

Cafe cartel usually has alot of set lunch and dinner or credit card promotions which i like. For students like me, it is worth the money to go have a meal with friends, especially you would also want a place to chill after your meals. Cakes are also on discount after 9pm, which will cost you around $2-$3 only per slice.I like the soup of the day, the taste is always just nice.The main course - pork rib - is a super big portion. I cannot finish it. Fries are left half eaten and the meat is left with 20%. But the taste is good. Very value for money.Highly recommended for students, and people who is going out with a big group of people. But not recommended for people who wants to go for fine dining.

The cafe cartel here have very few people even for dinner. And for a moment, i thought that the standard of the shop had changed. But luckily, it was not. I guessed people really have monday blues, that why the shop was so quiet. It's great being a student and not having to work. The current promotion would be the ribs that are going at $11.80. And the portion is still, as crazy as ever. Enough to feed 2 persons and there will still be enough. The bad thing about the promotion is that, the sides are not allowed to be changed anymore. I didnt want the fries, knowing that i will be too full. But since i cant change, i will have to live with it. The ribs were great! The pepper this time round were slightly more than before, making my ribs seemed slightly spicy. But it was only a specific part and soon got used to it. Over all, i still love the ribs! The staffs were very attentive, serving us bread the moment we sat down, and ice water immediately came after the bread. Efficient.

I think the food at Cafe Cartel is just ok or average for me. But for the price, its value for money, if you order the main courses, you can get free flow of bread and plain water. All self service of course. Other than that their chicken chop and BBQ ribs are worth a mention.
