The Café Cartel (Closed)

Sometimes when I only want something light for my lunch, I will choose to have the waffles with ice cream and fruits from this cafe. The waffle is very generous in portion and the texture of it is very crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It is quite fragrant and taste good even on its own. The added sliced peaches and bananas have enhanced the taste of it and the vanilla ice cream also blend in well with the waffle too.

I have never eaten at Cafe Cartel before, nor step foot into one outlet. Not until this time, when my fren pulled me there; to queue for their cakes. We were at Bukit Panjang Plaza shopping and it was almost 9pm. My fren asked me to accompany her to Cafe Cartel as there were 50% off cakes after 9pm. Cafe cartel usually has alot of set lunch and dinner or credit card promotions which i like. For students like me, it is worth the money to go have a meal with friends, especially you would also want a place to chill after your meals. Cakes are also on discount after 9pm, which will cost you around $2-$3 only per slice.I like the soup of the day, the taste is always just nice.The main course - pork rib - is a super big portion. The cafe cartel here have very few people even for dinner. And for a moment, i thought that the standard of the shop had changed. But luckily, it was not. I guessed people really have monday blues, that why the shop was so quiet. It's great being a student and not having to work. The current promotion would be the ribs that are going at $11.80. St. Louis Pork Ribs is one of those things that i always order when i go to cafe cartel, no matter how their menu changes over time. It always give me the feeling of satisfaction when i leave the restaurant. Sometimes, i even think that the serving size is enough for two! I think the food at Cafe Cartel is just ok or average for me. But for the price, its value for money, if you order the main courses, you can get free flow of bread and plain water. All self service of course. Other than that their chicken chop and BBQ ribs are worth a mention.
