Wanted to feed some of my Brit pals some grub from their home and this place came up in the trawling the internet. Many of us had the Sunday Roast (or at least the meal that came closest to that) and it was at best so so only. The meat cut was slightly dry and not very flavourful if not for the sauce. The sides were also ok only. The meal was not cheap thus I thought it was not really value for money. Not likely to return though... continue reading

i think the food here is only just okay! preferred what was served at penny. we got the game keeper's shooting breakfast ($17.50 if i rmb correctly) which sounded super amazing with a whole slew of ingredients such as eggs, bacon, english pork sausage, sauteed mushrooms and grilled tomatoes with toast. but it turned out to be a rather small plate of food! > haha this pic is not really a good representation (it actually looks not bad huh) cos it really looked quite disappointing taste wise, i suppose it was alright, but not really worthy of the rather high price tag imo.On the other hand, i really like my lemon drizzle cake ($5.50)!! hehe. it was soft, fluffy yet dense enough, with a lovely lemon-y flavour ^^ My conclusion is that you should go to pennyuni for some proper food before heading to rabbit carrot gun for snacks ;) haha. btw, this place doesn't have any airconditioning, but we were there on a slightly rainy day and it was cooling enough! Attracted by the very nice deco of the restaurant, we've chosen to have our Saturday's brunch here. The waiter (might be the boss I guess) was very friendly. He has explained to us the meaning of their logo and briefly introduced the food. I've ordered egg benedict with salmon and hubby has also had egg benedict but with bacon. My dish was completely covered with smoked salmon which I couldn't really finish on my own. Food are all fresh and tasty. With the large cup of coffee and my beloved, I've had a satisfactory and relaxing brunch here which has brighten up my day. continue reading

Rabbit carrot gun at Pasar bella serves a variety of quiches, pies and cakes. Their quiches looked very lovely and is a meal on its own due to its huge slice. We were at pasarbella near 5 pm so not a lot of variety were left so we took the pumpkin quiche. It looked very lovely with huge chunks of pumpkin but my only gripe is it is served cold! Im not sure if we are supposed to eat it like this or we could request to heat it up. The quiche tasted very different from the others i have eaten because the cream part tasted too fresh, a firmer version of a custard/pudding and this made me feel that it fattening because imagine eating refrigerated cream! Other than that, the fillings were generous. I would try it again but probably not eat it cold anymore. continue reading

I’ve been passing by this place pretty often, and always see it bustling and busy at night and on weekends. So I decided to suss it out!Tried a dish from the main menu and one of the specials of the day…Beef Wellington for two! The waiters seemed hesitant enough seeing two ladies ordering tht much food that they kept double checking with us on our order. But only 350grams? Pffft! Of course we can finish it!The beef wellington was delicious! The beef fillet was juicy and very red, and strikingly so against the golden brown pastry that it was encased in. The pastry itself was so tasty that I could have eaten it on its own with no complaints. The Lamb shank that we ordered as well paled in comparison. We found it a tad bland and the lamb flavor wasn’t as distinct as it should have been. My verdict is still undecided on this place as it reckons a second visit, but if anyone pops by on a day when the Beef Wellington is served, do order it! You’ll have no regrets! continue reading
