This dish never fails.. it's a definitely a must have for every visit..Lets start with taste... very flavourful the exterior is sticky and crispy not soggy and soft.. even till the very last piece. It carries this tinge of citrusy flavour and the lychee just explodes with fragrance and juice when you bite into it. Gosh.. salivating now... The meat is rather soft and tender, not dry and no tough tendons to test your chewing skills... highly recommended! continue reading

I have been to Pu Tien for dinner before and this is the first time i tried their lunch set menu. Pretty value for money i would say especially i get to select dishes from a few variety (for appetizer, main course and desert) and form the set lunch menu.this time round we took the set lunch for 58+ for 2 pax=)pork belly with garlic - i love this. seriously! the pork belly is not as fatty for a health conscious person like me.Bamboo herbal prawn. - It taste very much like drunken prawn except it is added with some herbs in it. The soup is refreshing but the prawn is overcooked i feel.for our main course, we took xin hua lor mee. at first, i was quite sceptical on how this dish would taste like from the look at it but it is actually very good. love the fresh clams in it!steam ground fish with chilli. i love this very much. the chilli is not very spicy and is very appetizing for me lol.for desert, we made a terrible mistake lol. the desert is actually quite nice. just that we dont like it. it is pumpkin cream with ice cream.it comes with complimentary fruitsFood : ***Price : ***Customer service : ***Will i come again ? : Yes continue reading

I am always intrigued by the taste of the muddy red looks of thse dishes cooked with red rice wine and when my friend revealed that she loves it, i jump upon the chance to ask her to bring me to have a taste of it. She brought me to Putien and ordered the Claypot Chicken in Fermented Red Rice Wine ($19.90 for medium size) for us to share. I also ordered a Organic Vegetable Juice ($4.90) because i wanted to make up for my lack of vegetable in my diet. I was surprise when my vegetable juice was serve in a cute cylindrical glass flask which somewhat makes the green-looking juice looks tastier to me. Tastewise, it was appetite-stimulating cause sour plum was added in it. The juice doesn't have the grassy taste that most vegetable juice have. After waiting for about 15 minutes, the piping hot claypot chicken was served. I was salivating upon smelling the aroma of the red rice wine. I boldly followed my friend in ladling spoonfuls of gravy onto my rice and immediately dugged it. It was so good! The gravy was not too salty and retains the fragrance of the wine smell. It was also not too thick nor too watery so it goes very well with the rice. The chicken was very tender and juicy. Black fungus was also added and they were crunchy. One thing to note is that the chicken chunk were not boneless which to me, is great because i feel that eating chicken together with its bone makes it tastier but it might be a turn-off for people who prefer to simply savour the meat. Both my friend and enjoyed the dish so much that we each ordered another bowl of rice after finishing the chicken because there was so much gravy and it would be such a pity to waste them. Imagine our second bowl of rice totally drenched in the gravy like a rice soup porridge; you can tell how much we love it. Do take the first step like me to try it and hopefully you will like it as much as i do. continue reading

For the full review with pictures, please visit my blog at http://thewulfcam.blogspot.sg/2013/04/putien-vivocity.htmlWe ordered a set menu with some additional dishes.Their dishes were all of great quality at reasonable prices! So far, no dish was a disappointment.Their Prawn Herbal Soup was served with large juicy prawns! The herbal taste was nice, but the soup was a little saltish.Their noodle dishes were all delicious! We especially loved the Lor Mee. Their signature Heng Hwa noodles were a little too dry for our liking - but still it was tasty nonetheless. For a limited time only, they are serving "Jian Bao". It's really like a large, lightly fried version of the Xiao Long Bao, but dipped with a special sauce which made it really tasty!Overall we had a great dining experience - great food at affordable prices. Thumbs up for the service and ambience too! continue reading
