Walk past this area on a raining day and decided to have Bak Kut Teh since the weather is cold.If i don't remember wrongly, this stall use to be a chicken rice stall. We ordered their Signature Bak Kut Teh, Salted Vegetable, Peanuts, You Tiao and Preserved Veg with Braised Pork. The environment is abit of noisy as is located inside a coffee shop. My colleague and i was so excited to try out their Signature bak kut teh as we are wondering what is the difference between signature and normal. Our food arrived shortly after we order and the staff is polite and friendly in allowing us to take our time to think. The soup is fantastic as is still piping hot. The herbs that they use is strong and the pepper taste is great. What's more, there is three large pork ribs and to our surprise, the soup is refillable and is automatic. One staff will actually bring around a kettle and refill it for you once they notice your soup is running low. I can say that they have a good customer service attitude.Next, nothing special about Salted Vegetable, Peanuts, You Tiao and Preserved Veg with Braised Pork. As is just a normal can of peanuts which served in plate. The only thing i can suggest to them is to cut the braised meat into slices and mix it well with preserved vegetable.Overall experience is good and it certainly warms up our body after this meal and will strongly recommended to all my friends to give it a try. Spent $21 for two pax lunch. continue reading

Just spontaneously decided to visit this Bak Kut Teh store when my friend and I passed it on the bus and it turned out to be our lucky day as the queue was unusually fast! Got a table after waiting for like 10 minutes (yay to spontaneity!), nonetheless the staff were all very busy since it was a full house. However, their service was very quick and our food came very soon after we made our order. We ordered a bowl of their Signature Bak Kut Teh (refillable), and Braised Pork Veg to share, along with 2 bowls of rice. Their soup was really good! Not overly peppery, and you could taste the sweetness of the pork ribs with all the herbs which is really testament to their long hours of brewing. The pork ribs were very tender so you don't have to worry about being unglam while trying to chew the huge chunk of meat of the bone I don't really eat fatty pork very much for fear of the amount of fat, but their Braised Pork Veg is definitely worth every single calorie. The pork literally just melts in your mouth having being braised for I don't know how many hours, and it goes very well with the salted vegetable too. Our whole bill came up to around $10+ for a person, which is very cheap considering the standard of the meal. Definitely worth visiting!! continue reading

WHAT?! So affordable?!! That's my frens and my reaction when we went to eat this delicious free soup-refill bak kut teh which was near our youth church in Shine auditorium... each bowl cost about $5, AND WHAT'S MORE IT'S SOOO NEAR BUGIS, so it's like you know how youths always complain about how expensive the food is over there~~~ but it's not true, YOU JUST GOT TO HUNT for the good food! THE SERVICE is excellent, we always thought okay you know they talk about how nasty ah tiongs are but it's not true. They're always asking if we needed refill, ask us to take our time to choose from the menu, and there's free you tiao as well! YAY! continue reading
