Kimchi soup is ok too ~ I have tasted better ones elsewhere ~Soup base is better than chicken. I have some high expectation for the Ginseng chicken soup but it turned out to be disappointing. The soup is light but full of flavor. However, there is still some red in the chicken meat which turns me off. Glutinous rice is stuffed in the chicken and tasted good – sufficient to feed the two guys. Soup is refillable at a surcharge. continue reading

Initially I wanted to have steamboat at their Holland outlet but who knew when I headed all the way there it was full house and they didn't accept walk-in. I called the Takashimaya outlet then and was told Centrepoint serve steamboat so we head there. Ended out it was Korean BBQ! Crystal Jade has too many outlets that it is so confusing which outlet specialize in what.Never mind it is Korean BBQ, but what really piss me off is the BBQ hotplate itself! I don't know what's wrong with their BBQ hotplate, food get easily burn and it is bad for health. The first round barbecuing and the meats were already burnt. It was not that we BBQ the meat for too long.Their menu for the buffet is quite limited, it is just pancakes, kimchi soup, fried rice, noodles, fish/chicken/pork/beef meat, hot dog, mussel, red bean and water melon that's all. I rather travel a little longer to Jurong for Shiu Yakiniku. They both use the smokeless BBQ method but at Shiu Yakiniku the meats don't easily stick on the hotplate and get burn easily. Not only that, Shiu Yakiniku offer much more food selections. The only draw for me is the Ginseng Chicken Soup but 1 person is entitle to 1 serving and same goes with the prawn. The Ginseng Chicken Soup is really good! They sell it at $25 but right now they are doing a promotion at $9.Beside the Ginseng Soup, I only fancy the vermicelli and their desserts. It cost about $36 per pax but I don't feel worth it as we had 1 round of the BBQ and because the burn was so bad we didn't really had the second round. Most of the tables were done with 1 round too.We actually ordered second round of meats to BBQ! The burn was so bad that we might have to pay for food wastage as we couldn't force ourselves to eat the burnt meat. But luckily we didn't have to pay. continue reading

I really love their seafood pancake, Korean Ginseng Soup and the hot stone rice. So whenever I was going down to Robinson sale , this is a place which I wouldn't miss. They always served a table of side dishes while customer is waiting for their main course. And you can ask the staff to refill any of the side dish if it is not enough, and it is free of charge. But try not to go there near end of lunch time , as they seem quite reluctant to refill for you as this happened to me for my last visit. Price is considered reasonable for me as different items will be on promotion everyday. Highly recommended for people who love Korean food. continue reading

When my colleague told me that, Crystal Jade had “Eat All You Can Korea BBQ” @ SGD24.90++, I don’t believe and is located at Orchard! So I make a call to check the price before I make our reservation. Most of the foods are “Free Flow” except the Ginseng Chicken Soup.Surprisingly, the price is so affordable but not much people during dinner. The service is pretty fast but I surprised that we had to request the cabbage, chilli & garlic to go with the BBQ meat. Because every Korea restaurant will serve all these “Automatically” to go with the BBQ dish.Overall, the food is ok but not fantastic. My friends love the Grill Saba Fish most & I vote for the Seafood Pancake. continue reading
