Yup, as usual, Hairloom and Caramel still has their lunch special from 12 - 3pm on weekdays. Normal pricing is a dollar extra. Before visiting the cafe, I've done some read-up from other food blogs and hungrygowhere, and they have been saying the cafe sells main dishes like spaghetti. But unfortunately when I was there, we were only given the menu for sandwiches and salads only, so I suppose they have removed mains from their menu. In fact, there was a VAST differencewith the interior designs and food choices, so visit them again if you haven't for a long time! The last review before me was a year ago, so there is really a huge change to the cafe. The smoked salmon sandwich was really nice and affordable, only at $8.50 only. I really love the place and i think the food are good as well. The design and layout of Caramel Cafe located at Shaw Towers is really cute and unique. It makes one feel really cosy and at ease. The colourful chairs and tables, and the olden toys sold at Caramel Cafe brings one back to another time. We went there for dinner and I ordered the Grilled bratwurst sausage spaghetti in Arabiata sauce. It costs $11.50 for the small portion and $13.50 for the larger portion. The taste of the pasta was average, nothing fantastic. continue reading

Some like the little tasteful décor put up at this place, others just simply be in love with the mismatching but cheerful colours of their tables and chairs. If one has to give a name to the café's theme, there should be none more befitting than 'Alice in Wonderland'.My previous visit here was more than one year ago when the café menu only served a limited selection of cupcakes and some other sweet treats. A re-visit last week found that their menu has got revamped and they now also serve salads and a wide variety of staples such as pastas and sandwiches. My Marshmallow Cafe Au Lait ($5.50) didn't fare quite well, as the coffee taste was quite dilute. I still prefer my marshmallow in rich hot chocolate.Too full for a main course, we decided on Smoked Salmon Salad ($9.50). The veggie was crunchy and full of juice. The smoked salmon though deemed too salty when eaten alone, the lemon mayo dressing which was refreshing and appetizing made this dish very delightful. If you are here on a weekday for lunch, with their ongoing lunch promotion you may get a main course with complimentary drink and dessert for just $12.90+. continue reading
