7th storey is one of the restaurant which have this 2 combination of my favorite - steamboat and chicken rice! After hearing some recommendation to this place, I decided to check this place out for dinner. Order a plate of chicken and steamboat set to share between two pax. The chicken rice is tasted so good and I like how grainy the rice is. I had 2 bowls of it that night. The chicken meat wise is smooth and moist, very addictive indeed. The steamboat is nice too, ingredients served is fresh and portion is quite big. It can get a little crowded during dinner hours. continue reading

I went for a steamboat session with my family at this eatery in IMM. Besides steamboat, their specialty is also chicken rice, which explains why the rice we had was chicken rice and not the normal plain white rice. We ordered a whole chicken and two steamboat to share amongst ourselves. The chicken is quite good, it is tender and the meat is not too bland by itself. Paired with their chilli, the taste of the chicken is further enhanced. The steamboat that we ordered is the seafood steamboat, with prawns, sotong, and various vegetables like mushrooms and cabbages. The prawns are just so-so and we felt the steamboat set is pretty normal. I will recommend to come just to have the chicken rice. continue reading

The last time I tried 7th Storey was when it was located at the old Bugis premise. I understand it has now moved to Purvis Street and a new restaurant has also opened up at Marina Barrage. I was quite surprised to find 7th Storey at IMM so my friends and I decided to check it out. It basically offers both steamboat and ala carte menu. We went for the traditional steamboat set $8.90 per person. There were also beef steamboat set at $9.90 and seafood steamboat set at $10.90. Instead of the charcoal style steamboat, it used mini gas style steamboat here. I enjoyed the broth which was light and refreshing. The chicken rice was very fragrant too. continue reading

Wanted to try something new during Lunch and chanced upon the cafe. There was a reasonable amount of people in the queue and waiting for the food, so we just tried our luck. My recommended their Beef Noodles (Soup) but it was not available on that day so i ordered Ipoh Hor FUn instead. It was bland and tasteless to be honest. Servings of the chicken slices can be counted. The soup was just tasteless. NOt sure if i ordered the wrong thing, but i shall give it a try again and try the beef noodles next time. continue reading

The rice noodles were QQ and the beef slices were also QQ! Nope. No strong beefy smell/taste Broth was clear, light and garnished with suan cai (Chinese sauerkraut). But for guys, you may wish to order extra noodles. My pal who are a bowl of this goodness was hungry again after 2 hours. Perfect dish when it is raining. continue reading
