My family and I visited Baystreet21 for dinner and ordered 4 set meals - chicken chop, ribeye steak + salmon, nasi bojari and some other asian dish (sorry don't remember the name). The food was really horrible - especially when we spent an average of more than $20 per person. The soup was obviously canned soup - while I feel so, I will still give them the benefit of doubt. For the appetizer, they gave us 4 half-slices of bread. The bread was cold and hard. It was obvious that the bread was left out in the open for very long and they didn't heat it up.The main dishes were very disappointing. The chicken chop looked very dubious. The meat had a greyish tinge and smelled like chicken skin. I am not sure why but my guess is that the meat was not fresh. The ribeye steak was so hard and tasteless, I couldn't bring myself to eat it. But I still tried it because it was so expensive. The salmon was really badly cooked. My first time eating salmon that is so overcooked that the entire piece of salmon shrivelled up. The sides were very pathetic looking as well (colour wise, all the vegetables looked like they weren't fresh). Something weird I noted was that the food was very hot even on the inside (for quite long) although the plate was cold. I checked with a friend who works at another restaurant and he said that may be because the food was microwaved entirely. I cannot be sure about that but if I am paying so much for microwaved food, I might as well cook it myself. No comments on the nasi bojari because it was still ok. When we asked for our dessert to be served (was earlier told by the waiter that it would be taohuay), they served us a slice of watermelon instead. We questioned them and they said that they ran out of tauhuay and their desserts are "all first come first serve". In the end, the manager (don't know if he is because he was just wearing some plain t-shirt and pants) offered to change it to ice-cream for us. We accepted. Thought it would be at least a scoop of ice-cream in a bowl but... we were thrusted with this. This small cup of cheap chocolate ice-cream that I can get for 50cents which I find quite insulting and not value for money. Overall, it was very bad service and very bad food. Visit at your own risk.

IMM is one of my hang out places. There were many tunes I was in IMM but Baystreet were always not in my choices. Till yesterday when I think that I had almost done with dinning at most places in IMM, I decided to give Baystreet a try. It was a wednesday when we visited Baystreet 21 and they have the special menu for indonesian food.Baystreet sells a number of cuisine, chinese, thai, indonesian etc.FoodChosen WaterCress soup for soup of the day. Yes, soup is hot, what irks me most is that this bowl of soup is oily. I dont really enjoy it! They should remove fatty meat when boiling the soup. You can see fatty meat too.Beside water cress soup as soup of the day, creamy mushroom soup is another choice. This soup is almost cold. I will prefer it warmer. It comes with a bun and SCS butter. steak set with mushroom sauce - $21.90Steak is not as fantastic as there are veins in the cut. The feel of biting is bad.Special "Baystreet 21" Indonesian Set Menu - $15.90 ++ This includes, soup of the day, Ayam Gulai with Begedil, Sayor Lodeh & Rice, Choice of Dessert of the day, Coffee / Tea OR soft Drink. The sauce is cold as well as the chicken. Though the sauce and nice, I find that its very oilyThe Sayor Lodeh is very oily. ServiceI find it funny that they serve my cold drink last. Anyway, service is fine.AmbienceNot very pack during dinner hours. Good for gathering and chit chat.PriceReasonably price base on its portion.Recommendation / TipsWill ask for warmer dish next round.

This is my second time going to Baystreet 21. The first time I went there, I really like the spaghetti, and this time, I managed to persuade my dad to have dinner there. Of course, I ordered Spaghetti. I topped up money for a set, which comes with a drink, soup and dessert (I don't have the photo). When the spaghetti came, I could smell the fragrant smell of the sauce and I couldn't wait to touch it. Soon, I was indulging in the wonderful plate of Spaghetti. It was welled cooked. The spaghetti was soft and nice, the sauce was tasty and cooked really well. The Spaghetti met my expectations and I am sure to go there again, if my dad allows. (:

Was shopping in IMM. Happened to passby this restaurant. Decided to go in and try their food. There are lots of choices in their menu. They have chinese, thai, indonesian, western cuisine. So it actually suitable for most of the people. The main course is quite cheap and you can top up a nominal amount (around $4- $5). It is quite worthwhile. I like thier chips, steamed carrots & vegetables. The portion is quite big too.Their mushroom soup tastes great too! It is rich and creamy. Thumbs up! A great restaurant for kids and elderly.

Have been here many times, but this visit was not memorable. The standard seemed to have dropped a little and the taste was not as good as before. The Fried Kway Teow was a little oily and not as tasty as what I had tasted before. The Spicy Chicken Wings were the saving grace for the day.The service was good, as always!
