Recently the ION outlet has relocated to basement 4 of the mall. The outlet has an open concept compared to its previous outlet.Currently the soup chain is having a Japan Souper Inspirations promotion with 3 new soups. I order 2 of the soups with a Half and Half set which costs $10.30 which is $1.80 more expensive than the usual set, as I am having the promotional soups. Although there is hardly any crowd, the staffs around seem to be too busy to serve me. The staff does not give me the promotional lucky draw card that comes with the promotional soup. She also does not put condiments on the soups. The set comes with a ice tea and a bun. The ice tea is quite bland in taste. Barramundi Miso StewKuhlbarra barramundi fish, napa cabbage, leeks, carrots, zucchini, shitake mushrooms, potatoes, onions, shiro miso, handmade fish stock, mirin, sake, ginger, garlic and onionsI am upset that it does not comes with the condiments such as tofu cubes, shichimi togarashi, shredded seaweed, chopped spring onions as has been showed on the menu. The soup itself is very flavourful with chunky soft vegetables in it.Mizutaki x Keihan Chicken StewMarinated chicken, white radish, carrots, zucchini, shitake mushroom, black fungus, barley, sake, mirin, lemons, soy sauce, onions, garlic and onions.I also disappoint that the condiments such as toasted white sesame seeds, seaweed and shredded pickled red ginger is not served with the soup. The soup is also very flavourful.Overall the food is not bad, but the service has much to be improved with. The place is so empty that I could see people bringing in outside food to eat without buy any inhouse food, yet the staffs do not do a thing. So upsetting. continue reading

Meatlness Minestrone!! I love this soup the most. I dont get sick of it after having it numerous times. It contains Vegetable stock, tomatoes, cabbage, onions, kidney beans, carrots, celery and herbs and spices. it cost around $6.60 and is considered cheap..Even without the breadbowl, it is enough to made me full as the ingredients fills the bowl to the brim. The place is rather crowded during weekends. However, i think it is rather difficult to find something that is filling and below $10 in the town area. Hence I think it is certainly worth the money. continue reading

This place serve great soup which was very creamy. Order a minestrone soup (the broth was thick and splendid in taste and texture) and top it up with a set meal (a wrap and ice lemon tea. On the other hand, my friend chose the pumpkin soup with a large sandwich and ice lemon tea too. I like that fact that they have a banner stating the calories for each soup. It serves a great information for those who are strict in their diet. Overall, the ambience was good, f&b wise is beyond satisfactory, service was fast in serving of the food. continue reading

Had one of the Christmas items - The Prawn Bitsque (I know it's supposed to be spelled Bisque but that's the way Soup Spoon spelled it on the menu). It's basically like an intensely flavored prawn noodle soup. The taste of prawn is very strong (I think they used the prawn shells to achieve this) and it has bits of prawns inside it but it is rather watery instead of the thicker consistency of their other soups. I didn't feel very full after eating this so skip this if you're very hungry. A little disappointed because I was hoping for a creamier type of soup. There's nothing chunky inside to help give the dish more 'heft' so I probably wouldn't order this again. continue reading

Was craving for something to warm my stomach on a cold rainy day, 1st time that came into my mind was a bowl of warm hearty soup. Since i am working in orchard, decided to make my way down to Soup spoon located at the basement of ION Beef Goulash - My all time favourite. A bowl of warm thick soup which was filled with diced potatoes, carrots, celery and capsicum. Caesar chicken mushroom wrap - Quite bland, but not too bad. It was filled with some diced chicken and vegetables. continue reading
