Was running errand around the area and so I decided to drop by NUS after hearing about the cheap yet tasty food in the campus. Luckily they do allow outsiders to lunch in rather than just restrict to the students there. Have the Xiao Wan Mian from this stall and I choose to have the Mee pok dry with chili. Cost less than $3, I got a separate bowl of soup and 1 person portion of the mee pok. Indeed very cheap! The mee pok is cooked nicely and a little chewy. The chili is good and spicy, should have added more cos I feel that it is not enough for me. The soup taste nice too, and the ingredients given is plenty. If only I am always around the area, I will definitely visit here for some good and cheap lunch! continue reading

This noodles stall at engineering canteen in NUS is pretty famous, and they serve really good minced meat noodles. I was quite hungry the other day so decided to order the 'small pot noodles' ($2.8), where the dry noodles comes with a small pot of soup. There are quite a lot of ingredients inside the soup, fish balls, meat ball, sliced fish cakes, egg, lettuce etc. Very filling and yummy. continue reading

Noodles at this stall are very affordable, at only $2 per bowl! However, the serving is rather little, and the noodles are just ok. Noodles were well cooked and not starchy or too soft. However, I found the vinegar smell too strong. continue reading

Whatever noodles you want, whatever noodles you get. Laksa, pork rib prawn noodles, minced meat noodles, fish ball noodles, meat ball noodles and mini wok with rice/noodles; mee, mee pok, mee kia, kway teow, just state your preference and a piping hot bowl of noodles will be served in an instant. For my recent visit to this stall, I ordered the pork rib prawn noodles. The most notable point about this dish is its soup. It’s very flavourful, oozing with the goodness from the prawns and pork ribs! There’s sufficient meat on the ribs, which were cooked till tender. Together with chewy noodles and two big prawns, there’s nothing not to love about this dish! continue reading
