Back in September when there are still the Chef’s Korean inspired soup specials, I went and tried out the kimchi soup. The Kimchi soup comes with a condiment of an egg. Actually, I expected that the egg would be those soft boiled like in toast joints. However, the egg is still very raw, which is something I don’t like since the soup is not hot enough to cook it further. That said, besides this, I found the soup to be really nice, though it got a little too saltish towards the end, because there is no plain tasting food (like rice or noodles to pair with it). In fact, I think it can rival those kimchi soups from Korean restaurants as the soup by Soup Spoon is full of ingredients and it is very yummy. If only it is on the permanent menu, I could have this every week and not get sick of it. continue reading

There were very little tables in this cafe, they operate based on a high turnover concept. Even if you want to sit and talk with your company you will soon feel pressurised to leave and go elsewhere because there are too little seats in this cafe. However, the meals were of good value, and i liked how I could takeaway my bun when i was full. Had the Tokyo Chicken Stew, low in calories, piping hot, generous with ingredients. continue reading

Had dinner with my friend at this soup spoon outlet in JEM and I ordered the mushroom soup together with the chilled teriyaki chicken soba as my side and green tea as my drink. This is my first time trying the teriyaki chicken soba and it was good! It was actually my friend's recommendation and I foresee it being my favourite side at Soup Spoon! I like that they offer combo meals at affordable prices! continue reading

We went to this outlet for the 1 for 1 bread bowl offer for new opening. Love the country kitchen deco and renovation of the shop, although the seating is rather tight. Staffs are efficient. The soup are pretty standard across the different outlets in Singapore. Love their velvet mushroom soup and I like the crispy bread on the pot. Tasty as always. The salad is made with fresh greens and the salad sauce is yummy! Price a lttle too high if it is just ala carte, without the offer. Will return for more if there is other discounts continue reading

My wife and daughter wanted to eat at The Soup Spoon, so I decided to go along with them as well. The Soup Spoon has a total of 8 regular soups and 3 chef specials soup at any one month that you go. I didn't really like the chef's specials for the month, so I went ahead and ordered the mushroom soup instead. The mushroom soup seems to be quite a popular choice as I saw quite a few patrons having the same soup as well. I am not a big fan of mushroom but even I was wowed by the taste. The soup is full of chunky mushrooms which includes button mushrooms and some other types which I can't really identify but are nonetheless delicious. The soup itself is also not too creamy, there is a good balance so I had no problems with finishing the entire bowl of soup myself. The soup is also good for dipping the bread in as it is thick enough and I even had another piece of bread at 70 cents to soak up every bit of the delicious mushroom soup. continue reading
