Back in September when there are still the Chef’s Korean inspired soup specials, I went and tried out the kimchi soup. The Kimchi soup comes with a condiment of an egg. Actually, I expected that the egg would be those soft boiled like in toast joints. However, the egg is still very raw, which is something I don’t like since the soup is not hot enough to cook it further. That said, besides this, I found the soup to be really nice, though it got a little too saltish towards the end, because there i

That said, besides this, I found the soup to be really nice, though it got a little too saltish towards the end, because there is no plain tasting food (like rice or noodles to pair with it). In fact, I think it can rival those kimchi soups from Korean restaurants as the soup by Soup Spoon is full of ingredients and it is very yummy. If only it is on the permanent menu, I could have this every week and not get sick of it.

There were very little tables in this cafe, they operate based on a high turnover concept. Even if you want to sit and talk with your company you will soon feel pressurised to leave and go elsewhere because there are too little seats in this cafe. However, the meals were of good value, and i liked how I could takeaway my bun when i was full. Had the Tokyo Chicken Stew, low in calories, piping hot, generous with ingredients.

Had dinner with my friend at this soup spoon outlet in JEM and I ordered the mushroom soup together with the chilled teriyaki chicken soba as my side and green tea as my drink. This is my first time trying the teriyaki chicken soba and it was good! It was actually my friend's recommendation and I foresee it being my favourite side at Soup Spoon! I like that they offer combo meals at affordable prices!

My wife and daughter wanted to eat at The Soup Spoon, so I decided to go along with them as well. The Soup Spoon has a total of 8 regular soups and 3 chef specials soup at any one month that you go. The mushroom soup seems to be quite a popular choice as I saw quite a few patrons having the same soup as well. I am not a big fan of mushroom but even I was wowed by the taste. The soup is

The soup is full of chunky mushrooms which includes button mushrooms and some other types which I can't really identify but are nonetheless delicious. The soup itself is also not too creamy, there is a good balance so I had no problems with finishing the entire bowl of soup myself. The soup is also good for dipping the bread in as it is thick enough and I even had another piece of bread at 70 cents to soak up every bit of the delicious mushroom soup.

Visited the soup spoon on 13 sept for dinner. I ordered the Simon & Garfunkel chicken ragout set meal and chose a (1/2) fish taco wrap with a coke light ($12.9 in total). It looked like curry veg but taste totally different from curry. Far from being spicy, it was a thick and flavorful soup! The entire bowl of soup was choked with ingredients, ranging from many potato, chicken and different types of mushrooms. It was worth the price and definitely one of the best western soups i ever had! The soup itself came with a small piece of bread, which was nothing much to rave about though.

Moving onto the fish taco wrap, I have to say it takes an acquired tastebud to appreciate this unique wrap. It has a mild spicy and slight sour taste every bite, which is attributed to the spices used. It was also surprising to find peach slices and raisins inside the wrap.

I finished the meal, feeling very bloated. The soup alone with that small piece of bread would have been enough for a meal. Unless you are a big eater, u might wana consider ordering just the soup only ($8).

There is no service charge required for dine in and all the prices are already inclusive of GST.

This was the worst Soup Spoon meal I've ever had. I got the Tokyo Chicken Stew with the Chilled Soba with Teriyaki Chicken and an Iced Lemon Tea ($12.30). I really like the chicken stew from other outlets but not this one. The colour of the soup was much darker than others and it was much saltier. My chilled soba did not arrive for awhile so I enquired with the server. She went to check and I saw her bringing me the bowl from a customer's table. That was very unprofessional and I was petrified.

It consisted of raw baby dou miao which tasted like it came directly from the ground. It had crunchy sesame seeds though which was quite nice. Overall, this was the worst meal I've had at Soup Spoon. I will hesitate to visit their JEM branch next time.

Roasted Pumpkin Soup + Half Smoked Salmon SandwichThis set meal costed $11.80 including an additional 50 cents top-up for the premium sandwich (smoked salmon). The meal was extremely filling. The soup itself already made me rather bloated. I did not like the taste of the soup so I did not finish it. It had a weird "roasted" taste and it was quite "jelat" for me to finish the whole bowl by myself. Thankfully, the sandwich was not bad. I love the bread as it was quite crisp. The salad was a little

I ordered the mushroom soup while my friend ordered clam chowder. And we got a loyalty card! The mushroom soup really had alot of mushroom smell and taste, super strong, and it tasted abit bland other than having a rich mushroom taste. It’s neither sweet or salty. Tried the clam chowder and it’s slightly more savoury for my taste buds but apparently my friend preferred my mushroom soup more. Thank goodness I didn’t upgrade to the one with a bun because all soups come with a bun (which was the wheaty type) and it’s so good that you can eat it on its own, which we did! Probably wouldn’t order the mushroom soup again but I might be back to try other tomato-based soups!
