Chawanmushi - I think it's $5 or slightly more ... but it's smaller than the portion served at other restaurants and lesser ingredients ... Kawa Ebi Karaage (Deep-Fried River Shrimps) - $8 ... A new try for me and it tasted crispy with a tinge of seafood taste ... A good dish as snacks!Hiyashi Udon (Cold Udon) - $6.80... good quality udon that do not tangle when it is being picked up ... smooth and silky ~YUMMY Curry Don comparable to Tonkinchi's Tetsu being located at Tanglin Mall is a bit far for us to access ... we walked quite a distance (20 mins or so) from Orchard MRT ... Unless Tetsu has a promotion, there are a handful of good Japanese restaurants out there which are more convenient and economical prices for us to visit continue reading

My boyfriend made a reservation at this restaurant & it was decorated with red roses petal. It was so romantic & the restaurant was lit by floating candles. The whole ambience was really great. They had a valentine set meal at $80 plus but we decide to go for ala carte since my boyfriend doesnt eat much sashimi. We ordered our favourite salmon sashimi. It was $8 per plate but SO GOOD & FRESH!We ordered shabu shabu soup which was disappointing as it was so salty. The hand rolls & the roll as shown in the photos were great! We ordered pork chop as well & it tasted normal. All in all,I would go there definitely for their sashimi & rolls. The quality was great.Customer service was pretty good.Price wise too expensive. But the quality makes up for it if you order the sashimi. continue reading

Been here for company dinner. The environment is VERY good! Warm, comfortable and quiet as well..The food they served delighted us a lot..I like the starter, cold tofu is really special with the salmon. But i dont like the noodle... erm,.. they said, it is their "home made" noodle, but for me its like "no taste" (well... maybe u can said it is healthy.)Sashimi is fresh!! i love it.The price is quite high, but still i will go back again. continue reading

This is not just another casual Japanese restaurant. My first visit to Tetsu was a pleasant one.Having tried most of their stuff on the menu, there are several dishes which I would highly recommend.Kani Tofu: Very unique appetizer. Consist of crab meat, tofu, marsh century eggs with a generous sprinkle of spring onions. Their Rosu Katsu: Breaded Pork loin was a killer! All their pork loin are well marinated and cut to a 1inch thick. I expect it to be a little tough for its thickness but to my surprise it was extremely tender and fried to perfection. The pork loin simply melt in your mouth!Their Sashimi was very fresh and they do serve non-usual kind of sashi such as swordfish. They airflown all the fish from Japan every tues or fri (IIRC) to ensure the the best quality. Decoration was classy, not rowdy and rather pleasant for casual dining.Price are reasonable and I believe they serve one of the better Katsu in Singapore!I would strongly recommend Tetsu for Japanese food lover. continue reading
