Signature Dishes
If you are craving for Japanese food yet not willing to pay more, Umisushi might be one of the economic choice for you. Well, of course what you pay is what you get. Food here might not be super delicate and delicious, but it's definitely alright for that price. I personally quite like the Chawanmushi ($1.80), very eggy taste and smooth. Tori katsu bento ($5.60) has too much rice that I couldn't finish all. The breaded, deep-fried Chicken cutlet is huge, slightly too oily though the meat is quite juicy. Sushi wise, they are all pretty good. Lobster salad gunkan ($2.20) is recommended, the filling on top is quite a lot and taste good. Chuka hotate gunkan ($1.40) which is the Spicy Sesame clams sushi is well-seasoned. Chuka Wakame gunkan ($1.40) which is the seaweed sushi, has a good flavour too.

We ordered a delivery Umi sushi. First time trying this sushi, I find it average. It's cheaper than other places but it's not as fresh or tasty. The presentation is alright. The food is still not exactly up to standard but it's improved. There is a lot of variety to choose from and they are pretty cheap. Their sushi are prepacked in containers. They are easy to eat and are ideal for quick lunch and dinner. Eat these with a bit of the wasabi and Japanese soya sauce is delightablely delicious. However, the taste is not up to my standard so I will not recommend this place. It is a convenient location and convenient for takeaways. Service is alright.

marinated jelly fish is one of my favourite side dishes that i always like to get in a japanese restaurant. i really like the chewy texture and i find the taste quite appetising. the jelly fish "salad" at umi sushi was not bad too, quite chewy but the taste was slightly blend but overall was still nice to eat. and it only cost $2 for one serving, so is much cheaper than restaurant prices
