Never get bored of fragrant hot pot. Me and my friends search for these kind of hot pots every week. Since we had the one in 313 Somerset and since the taste was quite similar with the ones I had in China, I heard from a friend that a new fragrant hot pot finally coming to Vivo City… it's in Vivo City's Food Republic… the place is quite nice because they have reserved seat for the guest ordering the hot pots. The difference is that they don’t show the veggies n meats on the shelves. They just show the menu n tick from there, so we can't really know how much is the portion of each veggies. As expected, the taste was awesome. A very big bowl indeed and really pleasant to eat on such a big bowl. Haha. With all the spices mixed together with chilly oil and their special sauces, this mix-everything-in-a-bowl was very tastyyy. Will visit again as it's nearer and convenient to reach. Two thumbs up for fragrant hot pot! continue reading

This was a newly opened restaurant in the food republic of Vivocity. I had walked past it a few times and saw people eating from this gigantic bowl but not sure what it was selling. At the same time, the lack of crowd also put me off a little. However, after having a look at the menu and as a lover of spicy food, I decided to give it a try. Basically, it works abit like our hotpot, where you choose a few ingredients. The special concept here is that whatever you choose, they stirfry it in szechuan peppers and chilli oil. Be warned, it is very spicy! But the concept is nice, a little like a special zi char. Be prepared to queue though. continue reading
