Had a bowl of macaroni soup with shredded chicken for $2. The soup was bland-tasting and a little oily. There was very little shredded chicken in it and the chicken tasted dry and tough. Although it is cheap, it's not very nice. It's not very filling too so if you are not hungry, perhaps you may want to get this. will try the chicken rice instead the next time. continue reading

I guess I have tried almost all the items in their menu and to date, the taste and portion of their food remains good ever since I started working at NUS. Although I stall-hopped every now and then but when there is short or zero queue at their stall, what first comes to my mind was their Shredded Chicken Hor Fun.At the price of $2, you get a good amount of hor fun to fill your stomach plus vegetables, shredded chicken and slices of mushroom. Please do not mistaken that this food item has nothing special. Apart from the black soya sauce that was used, they add gravy to the mushroom which also blends into the hor fun itself too for us to mix it well. The hor fun on the other hand is so smooth and actually absorb the gravy into it. You can slurp it up so easily. The hor fun that we usually had outside are thin but bigger in size and usually have it dry with gravy or just fried hor fun. Here they use a smaller in size kind of hor fun, smaller than kway teow in fishball noodles. It is easier to eat. I will definitely recommend every single item in their menu. From $1- $2, you can fill your stomach for a good 4-5 hours before your dinner, even without adding additional sides to it. continue reading

gotten the roast pork rice for lunch since all the other stores had super long queue. as usual i added the braised beancurd since it tasted nice and also added more source of fibre to the meal. today roast pork was not as nice and it had a lot of fats in it. the rice portion was really a lot, i think there was at least 1.5 bowls of rice in there. my friend told me their chicken rice chilli was horrible but when i tried it today, i felt it was not too bad continue reading

This is one of the most popular stalls in this canteen. There is always a long queue during lunch hour. My favourite from this stall is the steamed chicken rice and roasted duck rice. I ordered the duck rice on this occasion. At $2, the serving is quite a lot judging from the amount of rice and duck given as seen from the picture. The duck is adequately flavoured and is not tough. Usually I will add vegetables to have a healthy diet. It costs $0.30 to add the vegetables. The sausage from this stall tastes delicious too and it is marinated with some sweet sauce. continue reading
