Signature Dishes
My family wanted to dine in another Dim Sum Restaurant in the same shopping mall but there was very long queue. Hence, we went to Crystal Jade Dining Place to have Dim Sum instead. The dining area was cosy and premium look, though I felt the lighting was slightly dim for dining. The staffs were very attentive, it seem that a staff was assigned to a table ready to refill the tea or clear the used plates. Everytime a new dim sum came, we were given new plates.We ordered some Dim Sums and a plate of Fried Carrot Cake. The Fried Carrot Cake had "Wok Hei" aroma but the texture of the carrot cake was soft and mushy. The carrot cake though looked dark in colour, it was actually quite spicy. The Dim Sums such as Steamed Prawn Dumplings was good, it had fresh and spingy prawns. The Steamed Pork Ribs was average and not meaty. I felt that the marinate using fermented beans was only on the outer layer of the meat. Their chilli was very good tasting. The chilli was more of the spicy fermented bean taste with heavy saltiness. The staff told me that they are not selling the chilli separately.Overall, the Dim Sums here was average taste. I liked the Steamed Prawn Dumplings but not the rest.
