Since it was hubby's birthday on the 10th of April and we couldn't celebrate it as it was Good Friday so we decided to go for lunch in lieu of it on the 14th of April. It was a Saturday and after a nice relaxing morning we left home at around 11.30am and set out to Megumi's for lunch. It was our second visit there and it seems to get better and better. We arrived at our destination at 12.30 and the waiter took us to our seats and handed us the menu and we took a quick glance at it and we knew what we would like to try this time. Hubby ordered for Gyu Katsu curry, while I ordered for my favorite dish Hokubee Teppan Yaki (I had eaten it the last time as well and I wanted to eat it again since it is very delicious), my son said he wanted to eat Saikoro Steak and we also ordered a bowl of salad and a bowl of rice called Shiro Gohan. And Coke for our drinks. Our food was served to us in a short while and we all indulged in our really yummy food. I tasted the Gyu Katsu Curry which hubby was eating and it was very delicious...specially the gravy and the meat was cooked nice and tender. My Hokubee Teppan Yaki was the best the taste of the tender meat lingered in my mouth even after I had finished my meal. The bowl of rice was yummy and can be eaten just the way it is. Even the Saikoro Steak is very delicious and juicy.I have recommended Megumi Japanese Restaurant to all my friends and relatives who visit Singapore on a holiday. continue reading

My wife and I decided to have our 10th Anniversary Lunch at Megumi Japanese Restaurant. So we booked a reservation there over the phone and set off at 12.00 for our lunch. When we arrived the waiter took us to our tables and handed us the Menu. We looked through the menu and selected 2 dishes. I chose Oki Ebi Yaki Meshi while my wife selceted a beef dish called Hokubee Teppan Yaki. The waiter asked my wife if she would like some rice along with her dish and she agreed and the waiter recommended Shiro Gohan. For drinks we both chose Coke. Our food arrived in a very short while and we began to enjoy it. The meal was excellent and we really enjoyed it a lot. I tasted the beef as well which was very tender and well cooked. The Japanese rice - Shiro Gohan is very tasty and so is the prawn rice. It was good to have Japanese cuisine for a change! continue reading

This was my second visit to Megumi. The first was on a weekend, and the restaurant was bursting to the seams, due to ongoing promotions with different merchants and deal sites. To get to the restaurant, you can take a bus from Clementi MRT station (52, 154, 184) and alight five stops later. Just alight in front of the stop where you can see the huge sign 'Sunset Way'. On the Thursday evening we were there, the restaurant was about half-filled with reservation stands placed at several tables. The service was more prompt than on the previous weekend. We got a seat in the corner, and ordered the dishes below.First up was the soft-shell crab, which would have tasted better if it was crispier. I liked the dip that was served with it.Next came the cod fish ramen, which had a huge serving of noodles. Suitable for sharing between two people, with orders of some side dishes. The soup base was tasty, and I would have liked more of the garnishing. The ramen seemed rather popular, as there were several people who ordered it.The last dish was the Tempura, which rounded up the meal nicely. It was crispy and went well with the sauce served. We spent about $42++, without drinks and inclusive of taxes. continue reading

We recently went to Megumi Japanese Restaurant. Its located in an HDB setup in Clementi-Sunset way. I've been to Megumi twice & I love their food. The ambience of the place is great & so is the staff, very polite & friendly. I went through the menu & decided to order a Katsu curry rice (rice served with Ramen curry & a pork cutlet, I simply loved it. Im a great fan of Ramen flavour anyways. I ended my meal with a green tea ice cream, which was nice as well. continue reading
