I've tried the stingray, curry puffs, and spicy macaroni here before. The stingray ($1.50) is the best thing to order while you are here, and also explains the long queue at the stall during peak periods. The curry puffs (3 for $1) are a disappointment as the only taste of spiciness, and not potato or sardine. The sardine is neonish pink and that put me off a little. Also, the filling is too little for the crust. The macaroni would taste better if it was not served cold during the peak period of lunchtime. It also is rather spicy! continue reading

I am always back to this malay stall for more stingray fish. It costs only $1.50, which is rather cheap and affordable. I have also tried the fried macaroni before and I find it rather mediocre. It was cold and tasted like it has been left out in the open for a long time. I was there for an early lunch when I tried the macaroni. The mixed rice is okay though. They have many staples and dishes to choose from. continue reading

Brought a plate of mixed rice from this stall as lunch. The side dishes includes stingray, mixed cucumber and beancurd with long beans. Firstly, the stingray has a soft and tender texture, quite fresh and well seasoned. The size of the stingray was quite reasonable. As for the mixed cucumber, it contains a combination of cucumber, pineapple cubes, onion and chili slices. It has a light refreshing taste and crunchy texture. The seasoning is not sufficient and can be further improved. Lastly, the beancurd with long beans was cooked in a mild spicy sauce and the seasoning was just nice and a little oily. The beancurd was equally cut and has a soft and spongy texture. The long beans was well cooked, crunchy texture and goes well with the beancurd. continue reading

the muslim food from ntu canteen b is very cheap and delicious. a must order is the chicken curry. the chicken piece they gave me was really huge, the whole thing was all meat and there was not any bones. The curry was sweetish and not too spicy as well, goes well with the rice. the meat is also very tender. I also ordered the long beans with tou fu. It was really good, the long beans was very crunchy and the tou fu goes well with the long beans. All these only cost me less than $3, it was very satisfying. continue reading

the muslim stall is one of the more popular stall at ntu canteen b. their queue can sometimes be so long that it winds up the stairs. This attributes to the variety of food they offer. They do not only have plain rice, they also offer other staples like fried macaroni, fried rice, fried bee hoon. For me, I decided to try their fried macaroni as I have always been eating their normal white rice. I ordered their fried macaroni with long bean and tou fu and fried potato cutlet. Their macaroni is a little bit dry but it is rather delicious. despite its colour, it is not spicy at all. Instead it taste rather sweetish. The potato cutlet is indeed delicious. the outside is crispy while the inside is soft and moist. The long bean and tou fu dish is really good as well. The long bean is very crunchy while the tou fu is a little chewy. As a whole, the entire dish is delicious. continue reading
