I ordered the chicken drumstick rice from the roasted specialties stall. it was very cheap, only $3. they even help you to remove the bones, how convenient. they left the bone there as evidence. the chicken is very tender and smooth. the skin is not too fatty as well. the rice is very fragrant, not too oily as well. the rice is not too hard. it goes well with the garlic chilli sauce. continue reading

I went pretty early to the canteen to grab lunch. there was not much of a queue at the Roast Specialties stall. I decided to order their roast duck rice add bean sprout. the portion was alright for me and it was very cheap. the roasted duck rice only cost $2.50 and the additional bean sprout cost 50 cents. The duck did not have any bones in it making it very easy to eat. i like the bean sprout, very juicy and not overcooked. continue reading

I ordered this lemon chicken rice for $2.50! Taste: I will only recommend this stall to the absolute money-savers. You probably can guess that the taste is quite off-standard. The fried chicken is quite soggy by the time I ordered (12 plus, almost 1pm) and there's totally no crunchiness in it. The temperature is also lukewarm-ish to room temperature. The rice is quite dry but still edible. The cucumber is not juicy, tasteless and quite awful. But in general, it still serves its function of filling up my stomach without turning me off too much. Its saving grace is the lemon syrup (the hawker centre type) which makes the whole plate more appealing. Service: The service is very efficient and friendly. If you are not alert, you may be subjected to the auntie's shouting. It's lunchtime, so I guess to be efficient you have to be rude sometimes.Price: Easily the cheapest and fastest. If you are rushing off somewhere and need a quick and filling meal, this is surely the best choice. continue reading

This stall sells a variety of food including roasted duck rice, roasted duck noodle, lor mee, hainanese chicken rice, char siew rice, etc.Well, this stall is called the roasted specialities but its definitely famous for something that is fried, the Chicken Cutlet Rice!!Everyone queues for the Chicken cutlet rice. You can choose from 3 types of sauces- the thai sauce, black pepper sauce and the normal sauce! Most would choose the thai one. It goes very well together! However one bad thing about it is that the rice is plain rice. Boring. continue reading
