Oh ya, before I go on, do be prepared for the "weird" spread of orders we had, because we needed to spend at least $100 to use my $50 off voucher. Therefore, we needed to order some "expensive" items on the menu. I wanted to order the "Buddha Jumps Over Wall", but alas, it must be pre-ordered as it requires a long time of preparation. I was abit disappointed but now you know la... if you are keen to try lor..Mango Rolls - $4.50This was basically prawn and mango wrapped in light batter. Used to be one of my favourite dish last time. Oddly, it seemed to be quite normal when I tried this again after so many years.. *Shrugged*Pork Dumplings - $4.50I tot the pork dumplings were a bit disappointing. Those at Ding Tai Feng are definitely way better. The skin was kinda thick, and the xiao long baos were not juicy enough. Beef Steak - $24This was not too bad, although a bit fatty and a bit plain without sauce and no other side dishes to go along. It looked kinda "lonely", isnt it? Well, the price in a Western resturant can probably get me a decent steak plus 2 set dishes leh... seemed to be overpriced. Baked Cod Fish - $10Yeah! Cod fish again! Told ya we love cod fish. =pThis was pretty good although I wont really give credits to the chef since cod fish on its own is already good, even if it is just water steamed. I know.. I'm being critical here.. But hey, I'm a paying customer hor! Cheese Baked Lobster with Wine - $48We were not being extravagant okie? Told you I needed to order expensive item to choke up the bill.. =pThe cheese baked lobster I imagined, was one that was served in half lobster with lotza cheese on top. This was served totally unexpected...The lobster was chopped up into so many parts that we hardly recognize it! I enjoy pulling out whole chunk of lobster meat from its shell so that I can savour the complete sweetness in one mouthful. It was impossible since each part contained only so little meat.. I felt that the dish was quite wasted and the presentation sucks too. The worst? I was a fool, paying $48 for this... ~_~Overall, I felt that the standard has dropped. Most of the dishes were just normal, " can eat but not must try" items. On the other hand, Humble House has given me deep impression and there was expectation for the next dish and the next dish, in terms of presentation and taste wise. Here, it is just normal food, no wow effect.... *Yawn* and we spent $90+ after the $50 discount.. =_= continue reading

A restaurant for dim sum and to hold wedding. There are many young couples who held their wedding here. I think it's pretty cheap! I had xiao long bao (dumplings) and siew mai. They were both fresh and delicious. For the xiao long bao, i was hoping for more soup in it. It was a little disappointment to me. The siew mai was nice and tasty. continue reading

A great place for dim sum buffet. The last time i called for a reservation, i was heard this place have already closed down. I didn't probed further, thus unsure whether they have closed permanently, relocated or what. Anyway, the last time i visited, i had their crab. The whole piece of crab is on your plate looking alive. There's a layer of steamed egg as well. Great place and great service! continue reading

Had never dined at noble house restaurant before, until my cousin invited us to her wedding banquet held here;DIt was really a joyous and enjoyable day that day.The decorations and theme of the restaurant resembles that of the olden times where the windows are made of wood and they were shop houses;DBut that did not cause the restaurant to lose the sense of elegance, the place was decorated beautifully for my cousin’s wedding^^It was a 9-course dinner. What really satisfied us was the quality of ingredients used for all the dishes. The shark’s fin was superior and totally authentic, with generous large pieces of shark’s fin meat, and crab meat.^^Similarly for the scallop…so fresh and naturally sweet… “Mmmm” ;DThey have also their signature coriander cheese balls, where the outer is fried till crispiness and the inside is filled with the paste and cheese, really delicious! Not forgetting the steamed marble goby! It was a really fresh fish used, and the sweetness remain within. The meat was so tender and smooth, and it was cooked just nicely that the flavour sips into and stays within the fish meat.Another dish was the stewed sea cucumber and bai ling mushroom with lettuce in oyster sauce. Usually I’m not a consumer of sea cucumber but this dish was so nicely prepared that I managed to consume a piece of it.(n the whole, the dinner was an unforgettable and delicious one. From the dishes we could know how well skilled the chiefs of this restaurant is.(: of cause, to have such a good quality and quantity meal, the high price is inevitable but after all it’s worth it!;D continue reading

i went to celebrate my grandfather’s birthday at noble house. It was quite a grand affair for the family and we made reservations to ensure we got a space. The dish I like best is the braised toufu, of course the usual shark fin, roast duck were there but there were not as special as the braised toufu. The gravy was very tasty not too salty, you don’t need to eat it with rice! continue reading
