This bistro & bar is very different from its other outlets, which abide by a marketplace concept - lots of stalls, patrons order at the stalls and collect their own food. Over here, they have a la carte menus as well as servers to take orders and bring the dishes to our tables. Here they have Asian / Chinese dishes as well, instead of the usual Mediterranean and European cuisine at the other two outlets.I started with a Hummus with Pita Bread ($6.90) was brought to the table. Pita, being pita, had a hard and dry texture so I had to break it into smaller pieces. The hummus (a dip / spread made from chickpea, olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, salt and garlic typically) was prepared moist enough so that it was easy to scoop for or dip the bread with. However, there was something lacking in the flavor that I could not fathom. The entire spread was somewhat bland save for the sour overture of the lemon juice.Following that, the Lemonade Crab Meat mini Croissant Sandwich (SGD$4.90) was served. Crabmeat with mayonnaise has always been a divine (albeit sinful) combination on their own, tossing together the sweetness of the two into a delectable union. Who would've thought that the infusion of lemonade would bring the taste to another level? This was so good we wish we'd ordered the large version for it (if any). Then a slice of Medz Signature Rainbow Cake (SGD$6.90). It was soft and fluffy to the touch, gently filling the tongue with sweetness; not cloyingly so, but the rich cream was a little overkill I felt. Other than that, it was pretty good. For full review and more photographs, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2015/03/dinner-at-medz-bistro-bar-raffles-place.html

Medzs is introducing its breakfast menu to the city people @ Raffles Place. Located conveniently from Exit A, us, the city workers, have a new alternative for weekday breakfast.the eat insScramble Eggs with Chicken Sausage, Mushroom and Bacon a simple dish which whets the appetite of everyone - scrambled eggs. Coupled with sausages and that perfectly cooked mushroom, a light serving for a good breakfast. Egg White Scramble with Smoked Salmon Gravlax At $4.90, i liked this more than the scrambled eggs and yes this is much healthier with just egg whites. Although a tad salty with the smoked salmon, mix well and the egg white will complement the salmon well.the take awaysArtisan Sanwiches and Baguette From right to left - Laugen Brotchen with Pork Bierschinken & Red Cheddar Cheese (German) - $11.90, Beef Pastrami with Rustic Baguette (French) - $12.90, Olive Ciabatta with Prosciutto & Veal Paprika Lyoner Ham (Italian) - $12.90, Italian Panini Bread with Tomato Capresse & Buffalo Mozzarella (Italian) - $12.90. Don't be fooled by the size, its just the small portion we are getting. Its actually quite big.the croissants These croissants are the perfect takeaways. They have it spicy - turkish spiced chicken, they have it in seafood - lemonade crab meat mayo, and they have it traditional - ham and cheese. I preferred the ham and cheese, but all three flavours had their merits. Good for take away which is easy for a bite. overall review: full review and pictures @ http://shauneeie.blogspot.sg/2015/02/medzs-raffles-place-breakfast-for-us.htmlfollow me on instagram: @shauneeie or like my facebook page: @shauneeie for more foodie escapades

Do you have that one food which you can never say no to? I know some of my foodie friends can't say no to a good juicy burger !!There are so many places in our little island to get a burger.. but do you know where to find reasonably priced and delicious burgers at the same time? Alex has the answer for you .. Medzs has recently introudced their Signature Foie Gras Burger ! How about some beer to go along with your food! The prices are just so affordable! Let me recommend the Kirin Frozen Fruit Beers to you ! See this big ass of a glass? The one we were served look just like thisexcept it's smaller of course ! Medzs at Clifford Center is conveniently located just at the exit of Raffles Place MRT. It has a very casual setting, with some outdoor seating that is just nice if you like to chill and people watch around Raffles PlaceOk, why don't we start with some drinks? This is the Medzs Ice MelonDew TeaQuite refreshing..would have been great if it's really icy cold there are bits of melon in the tea . Now you can see the melon bits ...We literally went 'WOW' when we were served with the Foie Gras Burger!!($19.90) It comes with some greens and tortilla chips with salsa Just look at at piece of foie gras on top! Centred between the soft burger bun is a juicy gourmet beef patty infused withprovencal herbs and special seasonings.Topped with a generous slab of pan-seared foie gras and layered with pesto aioli and spicy salsaAnother delicious shot I must say this is a yummy burger and the price wouldn't burn a hole in your pocket! We were served with the Honey Glazed Pork Ribs next.It is also one of Medzs signature dish ($17.90)Oven roasted pork ribs served with sauteed veggies &truffles balsamic sauce . As much as the meat was quite tender,we found that the meat didn't really got infused with the sauce..nevertheless we wiped the plate off..I was delighted to see this beautiful piece being served..Oven baked semi-cured salmon ($18.90)Herbs crust homemade semi cured Salmonserved with French potatoes, Micro herbs salad& Lime vinegerette Pity the fish didn't quite blow me away.. It was the least favorite dish to the 4 of us ( we shared all the dishes with the couple next to us ) We were told that the fish is slightly saltier to the usual way salmon is cooked as this has been cured. Personally I wouldn't recommend this dish , unless you have a high tolerance for salty food or you like food with bold flavors. Another foodie friend however, found the salmon nice It's quite subjective .. I think the Kirin Frozen Lychee Fruit Beer did help in washing down the food I love the fruity note to this beer~has a slight sweet taste to it. Alcohol contend is low..but still know your limits when you drink! You can choose from Strawberry, Peach and Mango to name some And so you thought dinner ended here? No! Hahahah...we have to end on a sweet note shouldn't we?It's time for some desserts! Voted one of the best Rainbow Cake in Singapore, Medzs Rainbow Cake ($6.90) is really something! Overall taste of the cake is moist and light, the cream is not cloyingly strong ..it makes you wanna eat more..unlike some rainbow cakes whereby you just wanna stop eating at first taste. It's a small price to pay to enjoy a rainbow ! Plus it's so Instagrammable! We also ordered a Salted Caramel CheesecakeWe really do have an extra stomach for desserts!Despite being fed so much food, we still managed to polish this off..The salted caramel goes really well with the cake ..Texture of the cake is smooth and not really heavy bodied..Lastly, one of our fellow foodie friends decided to try out their coffee Little did we expect it to come with such a cute art !! Everyone just wanted a piece of the cute bear!!(Or is that a pig? )It was quite an enjoyable evening spending with fellow foodies at Medzs. Do note that the two other Medzs restaruant has a different theme and setting to the Clifford Center one.

Full review: http://jacqsowhat.blogspot.sg/2014/10/medzs-bistro-bar-clifford-centre.htmlThis is a unique Bistro-by-Day, Doorstep-Bar-by-Night concept. Kirin Frozen Fruit Beer ($6.90) - MEDZS is one of the first bars in Singapore to offer the latest Kirin Frozen Fruit Beer, flavors such as peppermint, lychee, mango, peach and strawberry. This full-flavored beer boasts fruity notes and it should be a favorite amongst the ladies. I personally love it, best paring it with burgers or meats.MEDZS Signature Burger ($19.90) - This is the highlight! Grilled gourmet beef patty with provencal herbs on mesclun greens topped with pan seared foie gras, pesto aioli & spicy salsa by the side to go with tortilla chips! Sounds like a whole lot of ingredient! The tender beef patty and juicy foie gras are stacked with rich flavor in the burger.I've never like the taste of foie gras but the one at MEDZS was nicely done and wasn't disappointing. It's pretty value for money given the big portion. Now I know where to go for burger fix! Oven baked Semi-cured Salmon ($18.90) wise was pretty decent.Rainbow cake at MEDZS is a must-try for your desserts fix. It's picked as the best rainbow cake in town on the 8 days magazine. While some may beg to differ otherwise. Carrot cake was rather good, similar to the one at Cedele. Gather your friends, loved ones and enjoy the night away with beer & tapas.
