A Seafood Lover’s Paradise
2011-08-22
Seafood lovers have another reason to rave about. Seafood Paradise, a popular local seafood restaurant, has opened two new outlets giving you more options on where you can enjoy their delectable offerings. Aside from their outlets at Defu Lane and The Singapore Flyer, they have also established branches at the Senja-Cashew Community Club (April 2011) and Changi Terminal 2 (May 2011). But whatever branch of restaurant you go to, you’re assured that you will be served with the best of their dishes. OpenRice was lucky enough to be invited to their latest branch at Changi Terminal 2. Having arrived there at 7pm, Seafood Paradise was packed with diners; some were waiting for their flights while the others were professionals who were just having a hearty dinner with their colleagues.
Venus Clam in Sweet and Spicy Sauce
Since this is the newest branch, they are offering several new dishes on their menu. These are the Homeade Teochew Prawn Roll, Venus Clams Stir-Fried with XO Chili Sauce, Venus Clam in Sweet and Spicy Sauce, Coffee Chicken, Curry Red Snapper Fish Head, and the fragrant Nyonya-style Fish Head. (These will be available in their other outlets soon). Another unique highlight is the Crispy Kang Kong with Cuttlefish in Homemade Seafood Sauce. What makes this dish a must-try is the way it was prepared. The Kang Kong leaves are slightly battered to a crisp before it is served with poached cuttlefish and a drizzle of the Chef’s special sweet sauce. Editor’s note: Do eat it right away so that the kang kong leaves are still crispy.
Signature Creamy Butter Crab
If you do decide to dine at Seafood Paradise, you just have to try their signature crab dishes. They are offered in various ways such as the Signature Creamy Butter Crab, Original Paradise Steamed Crab, Crab Braised with Superior Broth Topped with Vermicellu, Famous White Pepper Crab, Traditional Spicy Black Pepper Crab, and their Popular Chili Crab. But if you ask us, the one you have to order is their Signature Creamy Butter Crab served with their freshly baked breads. The way to eat this is you start with the bread. While it’s still warm, dip it into the creamy sauce. When you’re done, it’s time to attack those crabs with your fingers. It’s definitely worth having your hands dirty as they are just so rich in flavour.
Chilled Lemongrass with Jelly in Lemonade
Now, end it with some refreshing dessert—the Chilled Lemongrass Jelly in Lemonade. Squeeze the lemon first and dig in. It’s a bit sour due to the lime and it’s got seeds that are so addicting to bite. Seafood Paradise is a restaurant with a lot of choices on their menu. This is definitely a place where you can take your friends and your family. Discover the freshest seafood in town Find more restaurants in Cityhall
