Thai Iced Milk Tea, also known as Cha Yen, is one of Thailand’s most popular drinks. Evaporated milk and sugar are mixed with tea, and then poured over crushed ice. Given what a refreshing thirst quencher this drink is, it comes as no surprise that it’s made a huge splash on our Singapore shores. Here are 8 great places to drink Thai Iced Milk Tea in Singapore:

1. Soi 55

This home-grown brand is one of the few shops that specializes in making Thai Iced Milk Tea. Each cup costs $2.50 and additional pearl, sago or red ruby toppings are priced from 30 cents onwards. For a different flavour, try their Thai Iced Green Tea! The teas also come packaged in pretty bottles, priced at $3.90 each, which have been making waves on Instagram. 2. Nam’s Brewing Thai Tea and Coffee

Made with Thai Tea Number One Brand, Nam's Brewing Thai Iced Milk Tea is extremely popular with the office crowd nearby. During peak hours, be sure to queue and wait for your drink, as it is freshly prepared on the spot only after your order is placed. At $2.50 per cup, you get to stretch your dollar with the large serving. Tea lovers who want to try their hand at brewing Nam’s tea at home can also get their Instant 3-in-1 Thai tea Mix at $3.50. 3. Café Pal

If there is one café more popular for their drinks rather than their food, it would be Café Pal. A huge hit with students nearby, their Thai Iced Milk Tea is made with the Thai Number One Brand. Additional pearls, sago, aloe vera and homemade grass jelly can be added for 50 cents. The two pricings for dine-in and takeaway might be a little confusing for first timers. For dine-in, Café Pal offers a taller glass of milk tea with two toppings for a whopping $5.80 (pictured above). 4. Tuk Tuk Cha

A nameplay on Thailand's famous Tuk Tuk Car (three wheeled car), Tuk Tuk Cha also has a Tuk Tuk Car on display inside its cafe. The car has become a popular spot for customers to take photos. Relatively inexpensive, their Thai Iced Milk Tea costs $2.80 for a medium cup and $3.20 for a large cup. Depending on your preference, you can opt for the original or reduced sugar version. 5. Cha Thai

A sister company of Loaves Me Café, Cha Thai has gotten great reviews for their food as well as their Thai Iced Milk Tea. At $3.90, they fall in the mid-range price of the milk teas out there. 6. Noodle Café

Located at Golden Mile, Noodle Café is not only well-known for its Boat Noodles, but also for its ridiculously cheap Thai Iced Milk Tea. For $1.80, you get a large serving of their milk tea. 7. The Lab

Just like its name suggests, the owners of The Lab are constantly experimenting with new ways to flavour and present their food and drinks. Paying homage to Breaking Bad, this halal café is high on quirky scientific appeal. Its Thai Iced Milk Tea, is served in a beaker, mimicking a concoction from a science experiment. 8. Ice Burnz

Having recently ended its stint at Woodlands Pasar Malam, people are already missing Ice Burnz’s lovely concoctions. The halal stall’s specialty is Thai Iced Tea but they also provide other flavours such as Coconut Shake, Nutella and Salted Caramel Milkshake.
