Love foie gras? Try the Fabulous Foie Gras burger
Roadhouse’s new creations – more than a dozen of them – are all unique, but they do have one thing in common: all beef burgers feature the ultra-juicy and exceptionally tasty 100% Australian Wagyu beef patty. We can’t say no to that!
The Fabulous Foie Gras ($32) is one superbly sinful creation that’s got our taste buds tingling with excitement. Topped with balsamic-reduced shallots and dripping with mango salsa and rocket and garlic mayonnaise, this hearty burger symbolises the ultimate indulgence and is definitely worth the extra time at the gym.
Speaking of gym and fitness, if you’re on a low-carb diet, you can still have some burger fun – minus the bun! The Butt-Naked Baby ($21) is a bun-less beef patty covered in melted cheddar, sour cream, beef ragu, spicy nachos and jalapeno.
Roadhouse’s all-time favourites
Bacon Marinated comes with oozing cheese, sauteed mushrooms, garlic mayo and caramelised onions
Not to be forgotten are the restaurant’s all-time favourites. Just as noteworthy as Roadhouse’s new creations, these bad boys are guaranteed to hit the spot. If you’re looking for a bacon and beef combo, you won’t regret ordering the Bacon Marinated ($24).
For something a little more traditional, there’s Plain Jane ($21), which comes with 170g Josper-grilled Wagyu patty, pickles, ketchup and mustard ($2 if you want additional cheddar). Or, spice things up with Hot Mama ($24) – your standard cheeseburger with not-so-standard fiery toppings such as jalapeno, guacamole, tomato salsa and a bonus dollop of sour cream.
Sick of beef patties?
Bite into the ‘meat’ of the Japanese Prawn Star – a belly-warming panko-crusted chunky prawn patty
Burgers don’t necessarily equate to beef over here at Roadhouse. The “Everything But The Cow” section highlights all the non-beef burgers on the menu, from seafood delights like Japanese Prawn Star ($24) and Fish 'N' Chips In A Bun ($22) to vegetarian options such as the I Can't Believe It's Not Meat ($20) falafel burger and the Roast Veggie Sandwich ($20) – chock-full of nicely chargrilled greens.
Dessert time!
The Banana & Ricotta Donut Fritters are part of the “Go Bananas!” dessert range
In addition to the signature sweets, such as the awesome Sticky Date Pudding ($12) and the decadent Valrhona Chocolate Brownie ($12), Roadhouse has a new “Go Bananas!” section, dedicated to a variety of Josper-grilled banana desserts.
A great choice is the Banana & Ricotta Donut Fritters ($12) – fried goodness with cinnamon sugar, honeycomb and drizzled with Toblerone sauce. This treat might remind you a little of the local favourite, goreng pisang!
On the other hand, ice cream lovers might prefer to order the cold desserts. Try either the Josper-grilled Banana (muscovado sugar, caramelised pineapples and salted caramel ice cream, $10) or Sybila's Supreme Sundae ($16) – Josper-grilled bananas with triple chocolate, vanilla bean & strawberry ice cream, caramelised pineapple, maraschino cherries, whipped cream, chocolate sauce and raspberry coulis. That was a mouthful!
