Have Some Fun at Claypot Fun
2011-08-03
If ever you decide to visit Claypot Fun for a hearty meal, it’s best to come there with an empty stomach. They just have so many choices which can definitely fill your grumbling tummy. And now, with the launching of their all-day dining menu, they give you more choices should you decide to drop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. For breakfast, you can always opt for the Crispy Butter and Kaya Toast ($2.50). Their breads are made fresh every day and you can just taste that they’re newly-baked. They are very crispy on the outside and light on the inside. However, these will still make you full because the breads are topped with kaya and butter with condensed milk. What I like about these breads is that they are not too sweet. You can have a lot without getting your dose of sugar rush so early in the morning.
Other options are the Fried Fritter and the Fried Fritter Cheong Fun ($4.00), which are good choices if you don’t want something heavy for breakfast. Yes, the bread may look big at first but it’s light and airy on the inside so you won’t get full even after consuming the whole piece.
Should you decide for a more filling dish at Claypot Fun, there’s always the Fried Carrot Cake ($3.50 for 2 pcs.) and Fried Yam Cake ($3.50 for 2 pcs). Both are very soft and go really well with their chili! Now, if you are looking for something different why not go for Claypot Fun’s Fresh Shrimp with Leek CheongDun ($4.50) or the Mushroom and Sliced Chicken Cheon Fun ($4.00). Dipped in soy sauce and chili, these are the perfect starters for lunch as they’re tasty yet won’t really take up too much space in your stomach. As for the main dishes you can order for lunch or dinner, expect these dishes to be really filling! Some of their newest offerings are the Ginseng Chicken Congee ($7.50) and the Sliced Fish Congee ($4.50). A third choice, which is my favourite, is the Claypot rice with Kampong Chicken. The rice was al dente and was served with chicken that wasn’t dry. In fact, it was coated with just enough sauce which really makes the dish stand out. After all the dishes mentioned, of course you need to have your dessert fix. And for something light, you can have the Steamed Milk Pudding. It’s very soft and seems to crumble in your mouth.
Claypot Fun is really worth a visit any time of the day. You’re in luck because they have expanded their outlet at Playground @ Big Splash at Eastcoast Park to seat 150 people! Surely, you can find a seat there to enjoy their yummy foods any time of the day. Explore food places near East Coast Park after a day of fun Have a craving for local food? Check these places out
