PG/SK Style: Cyclist from all walks of life gathering for their weekly makanhunt session
Good food and fun cycling is the ultimate objective during Thursday rides. Members of the group will come riding in their 2 wheel "automobiles" from road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids, market bikes, foldables, fixies and some even just drive with the cycling convoy. Cycling away from punggol/sengkang area, the group will travel an average distance of 20-30km in hunt of the best local delicacies. In their group's recent Facebook poll, the most popular place they have been to was the Sembawang Bai Mee Fen - a dish which is cooked like Hor Fun, garnished with fresh seafood and for that added oomph, served with chilli! Despite the grueling slopes the riders have to endure to get there, they don’t mind for it’s always worth the trip!
One of the key founder of this interest group, Paul Goh, said that this meet-up is a good way to enjoy each other’s company and also getting to know their new riders. So far, these gatherings have been popular and even attract 20 to 50 members every week.

To make it more fun, the group also has its own team jersey and tights with an image of fork and spoon, plus the slogan, “Fuelled by Tau Huay and Prata”. This only screams the message that this group really does love food, right?

But don’t get them wrong, these riders are still in tip top shape even with the occasional food indulgences they have. They still train quite rigorously so they can keep their weight in check. Like what they always say, “Ride to Eat, Eat to ride!” Amen to that. If you are keen to join this cycling interest group for more makan-hunting, find them on their Facebook group page and most importantly, join them for a ride to the next makanhunt!
