One of the participating stores at Ultimate Hawker Fest – looks like Singaporeans can't get enough of cendol and durian
It was a gastronomic journey like no other – the Ultimate Hawker Fest 2012 saw more than 20 hawkers, master chefs and F&B stores serve up familiar local dishes – with a very fine twist! Jointly organised by TOUCH Community Services and Millenia Walk and in partnership with Dr Leslie Tay, of ieatishootipost.sg, the participating chefs at the event recreated Singapore’s favourite dishes using some of the finest ingredients around.
The aim of the culinary fiesta was to raise at least $150,000 in support of over 20,000 beneficiaries of TOUCH, including children from low-income or single-parent families, youths at risk, needy families, people with special and healthcare needs, and the frail elderly.

“We decided on such a theme for this charity event because we wanted to give the hawkers and chefs the opportunity to dream up an ultimate version of their signature dishes by using the best ingredients they could get their hands on,” said well-known food blogger, Dr Leslie Tay.
