This 9,500-square foot indoor playground in Great World City is likely no stranger to parents of young tots, particularly those on ultimate birthday party quests.
But aside to hosting an average of 40 customised parties per month, Amazonia’s clientele goes beyond kids and is open to anyone – including working adults – who could use a few rounds on their big blue slide or a game of glow-in-the-dark mini golf. After all, the play zone has no age restrictions and allows parents to join in the fun as well.
Amazonia Bistro: $10 Lunch Express
Its full-fledge family restaurant serves far more than mini burgers and fries. In fact, they recently rolled out a $10 Lunch Express special with a complimentary drink and ice cream for dessert.
Don’t worry about having to dine on tiny stools and feeling like absolute out-of-place giants. Rainforest-themed Amazonia Bistro has proper tables and chairs designed to seamlessly blend with the rest of its space.
While we can’t speak for all indoor playgrounds, the food here will dispel the notion that cafes in such entertainment venues serve bad, if not lackluster grub.
Like sunshine on a plate, their Super Beef Nacho’s Chips ($12.60) come with a sour cream and avocado dip in the middle before a good amount of cheesy cheese sauce is slathered on top.
For mains, feed your pasta cravings with the likes of their Carbonara Penne ($16) or dive into their plethora of Asian dishes, which includes signatures like Chef Nasi Goreng ($12.70), Grilled Chicken Leg with Onion Sambal ($11.20) and Sweet & Tender Coconut Marinated Chicken Leg ($11.50), which comes with rice or baguette.
If you agree that seafood and sambal is a match made in heaven, we recommend getting the Grilled Squid Glazed with Home-made Sauce ($15.10) – though slightly chewier than preferred, had us reaching for more thanks to its addictive quality.
You can’t leave an indoor playground without getting ice cream and you know it. Set to please both kids and adults alike, their simple but visually appealing Fudge Brownie with chocolate drops on the side pretty much sends you back to your childhood – if dining in a playground hadn’t already done so.
Amazonia Bistro’s $10 Office Express Lunch (excluding GST) is available on weekdays from 12 pm to 3 pm. No admission fees required for diners.
Play Spaces, Party Rooms & Event Venue
Besides its main jungle play gym complete with an 8-metre high slide – which we highly recommend you try – and trampolines, this robust space includes princess or racing themed birthday party rooms and a toddler play area out front.
For the young at heart, you can pay a small fee for glow-in-the-dark mini golf or a space ball shoot out. Venue hunting for your company’s family day? This could work too.
