An interesting concept by Tsukada Nojo, Bijin Nabe, also known as "Beauty Pot" is a pot of soup using their signature solidified collagen to add in their soup base for the "beauty effect". Since this is rare to be found in Singapore, I decided to try it. Ordered the signature bijin nabe chicken soup, comes with fresh hot pot ingredients to go with. Recommended to drink the soup first with the melted collagen (have a taste of it) before putting in the remaining stuffs. The soup is very tasty, one of the best I've had. Like what we always say, the amount of money you pay for quality food is worthy as the restaurant uses fresh ingredients to serve to their customer. Like the authentic Japanese restaurant feel too, like as if I am dining in Japan. Definitely be back for more beauty soup!

Collagen SteamboatSmile

My friend had wanted to try this collagen steamboat for a long time and so we decide to go there and try. For your information, they do not accept phone reservations and u have to go down to the restaurant and make reservation. They will call you when there are seats available. The staffs here are very friendly too.

The Bijin Nabe ($25) - a soulful pot of colleagen-rich organic chicken broth with prawns, vegetables, mushrooms and chunks of chicken.

The staffs there will assist you in adding the ingredients into the soup after that jelly collagen melted. There are steps in adding the ingredients. This is not the buffet type steamboat, but the serving is huge, quite filling for the 2 of us.The soup is thick and tasty with strong chicken taste. Nice soup.We also ordered some side dishes to eat.
This bacon wrap is nice. Rice is wrapped with the bacon strips and its light and yummy with the melted cheese on it...This chicken wing is crispy and juicyDo go to the restaurant to put down your name and contact number. There is always a long queue and the waiting time can be quite long.

Heard and read many raves on Tsukada Nojo and I always wanted to try their Bijin Nabe. the soup base of their steamboat is cooked with chicken bones that is boiled over many hours until the soup turns milky white. It was then solidify and served in jelly form. The steamboat is 25 per pax that comes with standard ingredients like prawns, veges and chicken meat balls and noodles ( 3 types for you to choose from - glass noodles, thin egg noodle, mochi mochi noodles like thick ramen). there are also side dishes for you to choose from.

the main ingredient - the solidify chicken soup. as you can see, it is very much like jelly and it will take approximately 5-10 mins for it to melt totally. once it is melt, it is highly recommended that you drink the soup for its original taste! it also comes with 4 type of sauces for the chicken meat.We also ordered some side dishes which is their nikumaki and nikumaki yuzu. basically is pork wrap rice. according to the staff, it is their famous dish! will definitely return for more! guys, if you want to eat Bijin Nabe, please be there early as the place is quite small and always long Q!

Having heard much about this restaurant, we decided to give it a try!

Be warned that it is not easy to get a table in the restaurant as it has limited seating capacity per night. Once its quota is met, sorry, you'll have to visit the place another time. The good thing is if you're there early to queue (before 7pm), they would put you on a waiting list with different timings to expect. So, you can go off shopping and be back when your timeslot is ready.

When you enter the shop, you can see that it is open kitchen concept, where you can see the preparation process of your food.

The highlight is this Collagen Hotpot. It is made from the bones of Organic Chicken, called "Jitokko" which is a precious chicken in Japan. The solidified collagen is made by boiling the bones for 8hours and then into the shape seen below. So, they will add the solidified collagen into pot and bring it to boil. The solid will slowly turn into liquid which is a thick chicken broth-like soup base. When you order the collagen hotpot, it is actually in the amount seen above. But, you can feel free to request refill of collagen when your soup is depleting.

Ingredients wise, it is $28++ per pax with minimum of 2 pax orders. The good thing is if you have 4 people and do not like all the ingredients on the set, you can order 2 standard sets and other ala carte items that are of your own preference. The ingredients are shown below.

The ingredients are fresh and from what I understand, all the ingredients serve a certain healthy and beauty purpose. If you're still feeling hungry and want more carbo, you can order the "porridge" where they will serve a plate of rice. Add it in and eat it with the soup. Really awesome how the porridge tastes like.

I guess Tsukada Nojo was really quite a unique experience on its own. If you would like to try it, remember to go early to avoid disappointments!

Had always wanted to try this ever since it opened. Finally had the chance on last Saturday night. We reached at 5.50pm and was informed that the waiting time was 2 hours. Nevertheless, we decided to wait while having macha latte at nana's green tea. Egg Pudding was so good. Caramel on the surface was crispy and well balanced with the cold, soft pudding below. Do try it! You will not regret!
