The noodle and chicken are very tasty. The price is also reasonable. When I ordered the ramen, I overlooked that there was no soup. The noodle was too dry. The other beveage was not cheap. lt would be perfect if the shop provides a cup of warm water. continue reading

Ajisen is a popular restaurant which has been around for many years. It specialise in ramen but also serve baked rice and other food items too. It has affordable ramen set from $13.90 - $21.90. A set consists of a ramen of your choice, one side dish and a complimentary hoji tea. I ordered the Cha Shu ramen which consists of a special, creamy and fragrant broth. It noodles are soft and just right for me. The cha Shu is really nice too. When eaten together, it is quite delicious. However, the egg is not the typical japanese half boiled egg which was quite disappointing. Overall, the ramen is okay and value for money continue reading

This Japanese chain restaurant uses the tagline "the best ramen in Singapore" and has an extensive variety of ramen noodles. These are served with different soup bases such as miso and tom yum, along with different meats, seafood and vegetables. Personally, I feel that the ramen that Ajisen serves are great for value and worth the price but it does not serve the best ramen in Singapore. The serving is just nice. Service is good, the staffs are attentive and they will greet the customers before and after they leave the restaurant. The formality is appreciated. You can opt for a meal instead of ala carte for the ramen as it is more worth it. For about $12.90 to $15.90, you can get a ramen of your choice, one side dish and a drink. continue reading

Ajisen Ramen has a perpetual ramen set option so it's always a good deal at their restaurant. This time, I ordered the Vegetable Curry Ramen (main) + fish cake (side dish) + green tea set all for only $13.90. The curry base wasn't too spicy and you can still taste the distinct pork bone flavour. Vegetables included are corn, cabbage, golden mushroom, shiitake mushrooms, carrots and some japanese seaweed. Vegetable lovers will definitely enjoy this! For the sidedish, I got the fish cake. Fish cakes were alright but I enjoyed the sweet thai chili that came along with it. Overall, an enjoyable dining experience. continue reading

Had a quick dinner fix at Ajisen as we wanted to redeem a complementary meal thanks to Capitaland! I had the Dry Char Shu Sauce Ramen while the husband had the Kumamoto Ramen Set with California Maki.Dry Char Shu Sauce Ramen (FOC) This was a special item not found in the menu. As the saying goes, don't expect too much with free things. The noodles were tough and the minute toppings of bite-size char shu was cold and unsatisfying. However, I must still give due credits to the sauce which I found to be quite tasty. Kumamoto Ramen Set ($14.90++)This was definitely way better than the former. The soup base was rich and the noodles springy. However, we would very much prefer those runny eggs to the hardboiled egg served. The char shu was quite tasty though we found it a tad too tough. Overall, it was a decent meal to fill the tummy but not satisfy the tastebuds. continue reading
